Claridge House is a deep retrofit that turned former offices into eight luxury apartments and achieved net zero carbon, utilising specialist materials and technologies to meet sustainability requirements. The building is a Higher Risk Building in a Mayfair conservation area and residents stayed in the rest of it throughout the works, with site access by scaffold only. Air source heat pumps, solar panels, green roofs and breathable lime plaster all had to fit around the existing structure. In 2025 the project won at the AJ Retrofit and Reuse Awards for Conservation, Decarbonisation and Future Re-use. Claridge House is an icon now for London and every major city and demonstrates how top luxury apartments can be delivered in existing buildings, targeting net zero carbon emissions.
Good luck and watch this space!
