New worktop and sink cutout finished yesterday morning. Customers paid me before I'd even tidied up! Went to look at two more jobs in the pm. On the archaeological site today on the former site of the bowling alley. Not at great deal to see yet. I'm cutting out a section of the security fence to make a gate, ready for when the volunteers turn up to assist in the dig

This is the "cliff school" guitar... salvaged from being used as a concrete tamper and before that a window or door cill in the (now demolished) school

Placed the pick guard in loosely just to see what it looks like... lacquer dry time could be upto 4 weeks in this cold and damp weather. Can't final sand or buff until it's fully cured. 😭

Had to sand the glue off my finger so I could open my phone! Been busy making a few non guitar bits and making up guitar...

Had to sand the glue off my finger so I could open my phone! Been busy making a few non guitar bits and making up guitar body blanks from old doors and off cuts from flying v which was a coffee table top. The last blank is made from a big bit of cill board I got from the cliff school on Portland. If you went to said school there's a good chance you stepped on it!

4 coats of Acrylic sanding sealer and multiple coats of acrylic lacquer yesterday. Gentle sanding and cleaned with mineral spirits this morning and further coats of lacquer throughout the day...bridge studs assembly and frets remaining...on the home straight!

1. Black stain on and then sanded back to accentuate grain 2. Purple coat on still wet. 3. The logo model 4. First light coat of sanding sealer after rubbing down with a dry cloth to flatten the stain finish 000 wire wool or 1500 grit sandpaper was just making scratches will try 0000 wire wool or 2000 grit sandpaper next time, but simply rubbing down with a clean dry cotton cloth gave the desired result this time
