I work closely with my customers and take great pleasure in understanding their needs so that I can present a quote in a format that clearly shows:
- labour costs to produce or carry out the work, and
- itemised list of materials

I find that this method lets you know exactly what you are being charged for and creates a confidence and trust between us. Every quote I carry out is unique, but each one follows this same format. Based in Cheshire, I offer a very personal decorating service to the local and surrounding areas. I pride myself on my attention to detail, the highest quality workmanship and excellent customer service. Above all, I love what I do and get the most incredible job satisfaction I could ever imagine. Hobbies and interests

I enjoy the outdoors and take great delight in camping and hiking. I have climbed Snowdon several times and spent many years enjoying the Great British countryside. Nothing beats being warm and dry outdoors when the weather is at its worst! I enjoy working with wood and creating a variety of things, from pens and chopping boards, to some wonderfully unique furniture. It is such a tactile material and can be forged into almost any shape, and the smell is incredible when being worked!

If you’re thinking about adding panelling to a room, I can take care of both the installation and the painting — and doing it together often saves time and money, especially as things like sealing MDF edges can be done far quicker before the panels go on the wall.

For this recent project, the customer already had their panelling fitted and asked me to bring everything together with a clean, flawless painted finish. Jobs like this are all about the prep, and it’s the small details that make the biggest difference.

I started by priming both the pine mouldings and the MDF, then sealed every MDF edge so the paint wouldn’t disappear straight into the material. After that, I filled the pin holes left by the installer and sanded everything back — the pine, the MDF, and all the edges — to create a perfectly smooth base.

Once the surface was right, I undercoated in the final colour and finished with two full coats of durable matt, sanding between coats for a consistent, refined finish.

The customer was absolutely delighted with the result, and it’s always satisfying to see panelling really come to life when it’s prepped and painted properly.

Here’s another piece I’ve been excited to share.
Hand‑crafted from solid oak and built around four polished copper pipes, this lamp has a clean, architectural feel. The copper has been buffed to a warm shine and finished with carnauba wax, giving it a soft, natural glow that won't tarnish over time.
It’s topped with an oversized bulb that’s black‑mirrored when off, and gives off a gentle, warm light when switched on.
A simple, modern piece with a lovely mix of materials.

I’ve been working on a few new pieces recently, and I’m really pleased to share this one.
Hand‑crafted from solid oak and sculpted into a refined half‑heart silhouette, it blends natural timber with a warm rose‑coloured fitting and a striking oversized bulb featuring a glowing ‘love’ filament.
A gentle, sentimental piece that brings a soft warmth to any room. Really enjoyed making this one.

This property is in the middle of a full renovation, and it’s been great to contribute a little craftsmanship to the project. I’ve added new horizontal beams above the existing porch posts and created three handmade curved braces to tie everything together. The porch will be getting a new ceiling and rendered walls as the renovation continues. Once the rest of the work is complete, the client will stain the timber to bring out the final look.

If you’re planning your own porch or timber feature, I’m always happy to discuss ideas and provide a quote.

Most people know me for my painting & decorating and bespoke joinery…
but a big part of my work also happens in the workshop, where I build handcrafted wooden furniture and functional pieces.

Outdoor seating, lamps, chopping boards, wooden utility caddies — solid, practical builds made from quality timber and finished to last.
It’s something I’ve been doing quietly for a long time, and I’m going to start sharing more of it here.

To kick things off, here’s one of the latest builds from the workshop — a chunky solid‑timber patio set, built for comfort, stability and long‑term outdoor use.
Heavy, durable, and made to bring a proper seating area to any garden space.

I’ll be posting new pieces as they’re completed, and these will soon have their own section on my website as this side of the craft grows.

Here’s the first one.
