Creating better spaces at Fareham Reach

Axis was appointed to develop an interior design scheme to enhance the entrance, reception, communal areas, café and shared office spaces at Fareham Reach.
Our aim was to create spaces that are welcoming, functional and enjoyable to use - improving the everyday experience for everyone who works in and visits the building.

At Axis, we believe great interior design is about more than aesthetics. It should improve how people experience and interact with a space, while creating lasting value in everyday life.

We’re proud to have contributed to the transformation of Fareham Reach and to have created an environment designed around the people who use it.

Safety, Health & Wellbeing Live - July 2026

Continuing to learn, improve and share knowledge 🔥
The Axis team recently attended Safety, Health & Wellbeing Live London at Olympia, taking the opportunity to expand our knowledge through a valuable CPD experience.

With health, safety and fire safety continuing to play such an important role in the built environment, events like this provide a great opportunity to stay informed, hear from industry experts and understand the latest developments and challenges.

We particularly valued the opportunity to explore topics around fire safety, building safety and the Golden Thread, as well as broader health and safety issues that impact our work and the projects we deliver.

At Axis, we believe that continuous professional development is essential to good design and responsible practice. The more we learn, the better equipped we are to support our clients and contribute to safer, better-performing buildings.
A very worthwhile day of learning, networking and sharing knowledge.

New article by our Director, Giordana Burns, published in Building Design & Construction Magazine, August edition

What does collaboration really mean in construction?
It’s often described as a personality trait — whether someone is “easy to work with” or not. But true collaboration is much more than that. Collaboration is structural.

It is shaped by how a project is set up, how responsibilities are defined, and how risk is communicated and managed.
Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015), the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer have significant influence over how projects are delivered.

The Principal Contractor coordinates the construction phase and manages health and safety on site, while the Principal Designer plans, manages and coordinates health and safety during the pre-construction phase.
But these roles are about more than compliance. They influence behaviour — and behaviour shapes culture.
A truly collaborative project doesn't happen by accident. It needs to be designed, managed and built deliberately.

In her latest article for Building Design & Construction Magazine, Giordana explores the strategic role of the Principal Designer and why effective collaboration needs to be embedded into the structure of a project from the outset.

Blast from the past!

This remains one of our favourite projects - not only because it gave us the opportunity to contribute to the local community through architecture that enhances people's everyday lives, but also because the setting is simply too hard to beat.
Projects like this remind us why we do what we do: creating places that serve communities while making the most of exceptional locations.

Axis Collaboration Hub – Summer BBQ
A Friday afternoon well spent! ☀️
It was a pleasure to spend Friday afternoon with some of our “usual suspects” - the trusted clients, consultants and industry partners we’re lucky enough to work with regularly.
With the sun shining and the weather on our side, we took the opportunity to step away from the office, enjoy a burger and a no-jito, and have some great conversations about the projects we’re working on together.
It was also a chance to share ideas, discuss our visions for the future and explore how we can continue to collaborate and create great things together.
We’re always grateful for the relationships we build along the way. Good projects start with good collaboration - and good conversations!
Here’s to many more.

Blast from the past!

It's been a year since the completion of this beautiful seaside home in Lee-on-the-Solent, and it's always rewarding to look back at projects that continue to stand the test of time.

This transformation created a light-filled, contemporary home that makes the most of its coastal setting while providing a comfortable and functional space for modern living.

We're proud to have been part of its journey and love revisiting completed projects to see how they've settled into their surroundings.
