A recent project completed - Our team carried out a full restoration to the tower roof, including:

⚫ Re-gilding the original wind vane and installing it on a new replacement oak spike

⚫ Installing structural steelwork within the tower roof to support the new spike

⚫ Carefully stripping the plain-tiled roof, re-felting and re-battening, then re-laying the original tiles

⚫ Carpentry repairs to the roof structure

⚫ Replace lead gutter linings, hip flashings and cover flashings

⚫ French drains installed to the perimeter of the church.

A challenging but rewarding project, preserving the character of this historic church while ensuring long-term durability.

Lime mortar has been used for centuries to build and repair historic buildings. Unlike modern cement, it allows old walls to ‘breathe’, preventing moisture damage and keeping the structure healthy.

Here’s an example of our own lime mortar works on a recent project.

Church of St James, Syresham

This project involved a full shingle roof restoration to a historic church tower. The old shingles were carefully stripped back, the timber repaired, and new underlay and battens installed before re-shingling.

Now the scaffolding is down, the finished result speaks for itself - a stunning transformation we're proud to have worked on.

Massive well done to our Craftsman, David, for his work on this one👏

Recent redecoration works completed for All Saints' Church, Northampton

Another local one for us, isolated repair works at the Key Theatre, Peterborough are now complete.

Works were carried out to the plant room as the lead covering was failing and falling off the building. We replaced the failing lead covering with VM Quartz Zinc supplied by Associated Lead Mills LTD
