We’re pleased to be involved in an exciting project at the iconic Comedy Carpet in Blackpool, where our team will be carrying out a structural assessment to confirm that the existing structure can safely support a proposed fairground carousel.
Our engineers will review the structural capacity of the existing structure and the additional loads imposed by the carousel to ensure the installation can be safely accommodated.
The assessment will provide the project team with the technical information needed to move forward with confidence, identifying whether the existing structure is suitable or whether any additional strengthening or structural measures may be required.

We’re pleased to be supporting another exciting project involving the design of new foundations, slabs and drainage infrastructure for a new wastewater treatment system at an existing Treatment works.
Our team will be providing a comprehensive civil and structural engineering design package, developing practical and efficient solutions for the new foundations and reinforced concrete slabs, alongside the drainage design required to support the site’s infrastructure.
Projects within operational wastewater treatment environments often require careful coordination and consideration of both the existing site and the new works being introduced. Our designs will focus on providing safe, durable and buildable solutions that meet the specific requirements of the project.
As with all of our projects, RD-Engineering Associates will provide ongoing technical support throughout the construction phase, working alongside the wider project team to help ensure the works are delivered efficiently and in line with the approved design.

Back in March, we welcomed Brody and Callum to the RD-Engineering team as part of their T-Level studies at Wigan & Leigh College, joining us for their industry placement and gaining valuable experience within a working civil and structural engineering consultancy.

In just a few months, it’s been fantastic to see how much they’ve grown in both confidence and ability.

Since joining us, Brody and Callum have gained hands-on experience across a range of structural and civil engineering projects, working alongside our experienced Engineers and Technicians to develop their understanding of how projects are delivered in practice. They’ve been involved in producing technical drawings, assisting with project work and gaining an insight into the day-to-day role of an Engineer within a busy consultancy.

T-Level industry placements provide students with an important opportunity to put what they learn at college into practice, develop their technical and practical skills, and gain first-hand experience of working within the Engineering profession.

At RD-Engineering, we’re committed to investing in the next generation of Engineers and providing opportunities for young people to gain meaningful industry experience alongside their studies.

Brody and Callum have both made great progress during their time with us, and it’s been fantastic to play a part in their development so far.

A huge well done to both of them on the progress they’ve made we wish them every success as they continue their T-Level studies and develop their careers within Engineering!

We are pleased to be supporting a programme of structural refurbishment works at Blackpool’s iconic Winter Gardens.

As one of the towns most recognisable landmarks, the Winter Gardens has been at the heart of Blackpool’s cultural and entertainment scene for well over a century. It is a privilege for our team to play a part in helping preserve such an important historic building.

Our involvement includes the structural design of sensitive repair works, along with structural assessments to facilitate the installation of new photovoltaic (PV) panels as part of the buildings ongoing sustainability improvements.

We’re proud to be contributing to the continued restoration, modernisation and long term future of this remarkable venue.

As Local Authority Dangerous Structures Engineers, RD-Engineering Associates Ltd was called to attend following a significant fire at a large commercial premises in Lancashire.

Our engineers responded promptly, working alongside the relevant authorities to assess the structural stability of the building and help ensure the safety of the surrounding area. The inspection focused on evaluating the immediate structural effects of the fire, identifying any risks of collapse, and determining the stabilisation measures required, including whether elements of the structure could be repaired or required demolition in the interests of public safety.

Incidents such as these demonstrate the vital importance of rapid structural assessments, enabling informed decisions to be made quickly while protecting emergency responders, the public, and neighbouring properties.
