UPDATE: CHANCE TO WIN A FREE BOILER SERVICE!
Firstly, we'd like to thank everyone that has already donated for the generosity that has been shown. Together, we've raised over £200 so far which is absolutely amazing.
In order to help us raise as much funds as possible for this cause, we've decided to give a couple of prizes away. All we ask is that you make a minimum voluntary donation of £2 through our Just Giving page. Anyone that has donated before close of business today will be entered into a draw. We have a boiler service up for grabs (for any time in the next 12 months) and a Google Home Mini. You must live in our normal area of work to win the boiler service but we will happily post the Google Home Mini to any UK address.
Please see the details on our page and feel free to share this post. The more support that we receive, the bigger the changes that can be made.
We have a special request for all of our customers. Quite often we work with people that suffer from dementia and we get a small snap shot of the struggles that they face on a daily basis and the challenges that they have to live with. Seeing these challenges, Stephen has decided to challenge himself by trekking up and down Snowdon in May in order to raise some much needed funds for such a worthy cause. If we've been able to help you at all over the years and you can afford to spare a little cash, please consider helping us reach (and hopefully exceed) our target amount for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Every three minutes, somebody in the UK is told they have dementia. But dementia won’t win. Alzheimer’s Society is doing everything they can to find a cure, but they need our help. That’s why I’m taking on Snowdon for Alzheimer’s Society
A little bit of background info from Stephen:
It's safe to say that I'm not the fittest of people. Anyone that has seen me recently will know that I underwent knee surgery in October and that I am still not fully recovered - I still have pain and restriction in my leg which makes this all the more challenging for me. I have been cleared medically to undergo this venture but it certainly won't won't a breeze. I'll be taking on approx 9 miles over varied terrain and the most I've managed so far is approx 6 miles over pretty even terrain and struggled with that! I have a lot of training to do before May and there'll be training updates on my Just Giving page for anyone that may be interested.
I wasnt sure whether or not to take on the challenge, I was ready to register one minute and changed my mind the next until something hit me on a personal level - I'm doing this on the anniversary of my Dad's early passing. My dad was, and still is, my hero. He didn't suffer with dementia but I know he would approve of me doing this in his memory. I know he'll be with me, watching over me and pushing me all the way. It's gonna be tough, still having dodgy knees but I AM GOING TO DO THIS.
If you can spare a few pennies, it really will make a difference. We would be so super grateful if you’d kindly support Stephen by making a small donation on his page:
