🔨 TWO STAIRCASE TRANSFORMATIONS – TWO DIFFERENT FINISHES! 🔨

It’s been a busy one for DGuest Joinery, completing two staircase balustrade projects with two completely different looks. 👌

📍 Leigh Miners Welfare Institute

We installed a new pine handrail, newel posts and baserail, finished with sleek black metal spindles. 🖤🌲

The timber is now ready to be painted to match the room, bringing the whole space together with a clean, modern finish.

📍 Westhoughton

We also installed a beautiful oak staircase balustrade, including:

🌳 Oak newel posts
🌳 Oak handrail
🌳 Oak baserail
🪟 Glass templated and sent to be made

The oak and glass combination will give this staircase a modern, open feel while keeping the warmth and character of the natural timber.

Sunday… the day to slow down, spend time with the family and recharge before another busy week begins.

Being self-employed isn’t always easy. Long days, early starts, late finishes, quotes, materials, customers, jobs to organise — and somehow finding time to switch off.

But it’s all worth it when you stand back at the end of a job and see the finished result. 🏡🔨

Every week brings new challenges, new projects and another opportunity to turn someone’s house into a space they’re proud to call home.

🔨 Kitchen Relocation & Refit – Leigh Miners Welfare Institute

Another job underway for Leigh Miners Welfare Institute!

We’ve been tasked with carefully dismantling and relocating the existing kitchen, then installing it into the new outdoor building.

The kitchen has been reconfigured and fitted to make the most of the new space, giving the building a practical and fully usable kitchen area. 👌

🔧 Work carried out:
• Existing kitchen carefully dismantled
• Kitchen units relocated to the new building
• Units reconfigured and installed
• Worktops fitted
• Final plinths and skirting to be installed once the new flooring is completed

A great example of reusing what’s already there and giving it a new lease of life, while creating a smart and practical space.

🏠 ACOUSTIC WALL PANELLING & HIDDEN STORAGE

Another transformation completed in Leigh!

For this project, we supplied and fitted a full acoustic slat-panel feature wall, creating a modern finish around the TV while also making the most of an otherwise unused alcove.

🔨 We also built a hidden cupboard within the alcove, complete with internal shelving, giving the customer valuable storage while keeping everything neatly concealed behind the matching panelling.

The result is a clean, modern feature wall that not only looks great but also makes the space much more practical.

🔨 ROOF REPLACEMENT & WATERPROOFING

Another job completed before the winter weather really sets in. 🏠

The existing felt roof had started to rot and deteriorate, so we stripped it back and replaced the damaged roof covering with:

✅ New 18mm roof boards
✅ One-piece EPDM rubber roof system
✅ New edge trims for a clean, watertight finish
✅ New guttering to help control and redirect rainwater
✅ Improved protection to the surrounding walls from further excess water ingress

The guttering is particularly important here, helping to take the water away from the building rather than allowing it to continue running down the walls.

🌧️ With the wetter and colder months approaching, getting problems like this sorted early can help prevent much bigger issues further down the line.
