A good Samaritan electrician has come to the rescue of a disabled Wigan pensioner marooned in her own home for more than six weeks.
Jeff Case took pity on 71-year-old Olwyn Entwistle after reading about her plight on Wigan Today (see original article in first comment slot).
She needs a mobility scooter to get about outside and in late February council contractors accidentally severed a charger cable - running from her house to her shed where the vehicle is kept - while installing new windows.
Because the charger didn't meet safety standards, Olwyn was facing a long wait for repairs, but now Jeff Case Electrical has stepped in.
Olwyn said: "It's wonderful: I can get out again after all this time. Goodness knows how long it would've been if Jeff hadn't come to help.
"He hasn't charged me a penny either and even put a socket in my shed.
"I can't thank him enough."
