Many thanks to Paul Argent/RPA Media for this fantastic overview of the expansion works at Kishorn Port Ltd on the west coast of Scotland, where contractor RJ McLeod is constructing what is set to become the UK's largest dry dock.

Using both their own fleet of machines and Volvo Construction Equipment and CAT equipment supplied by Stevens Equipment Rental, the team moved close to 1 million tonnes of rock.

The package includes Volvo A45 and A30 articulated haulers, Volvo EC550, EC400 and EC300 excavators, Volvo L180 wheel loaders, and Caterpillar D7 and D6 dozers, all matched to keep excavation, haulage, crushing, spreading and compaction moving across a demanding remote site.

It’s great to see our equipment supporting such a significant project.

Hillhead Show 2026 has come to a close, and it’s been a brilliant few days for the SER team.

We’ve had a great time catching up with customers, suppliers and contacts from across the industry.

The weather has certainly been on our side too! ☀️

The team had a busy weekend in Scotland last week at ScotPlant 2026 🙌

We had a great time speaking with both new and existing contacts about what’s happening across the industry, especially around fuel optimisation, plant innovation, and the practical challenges people are facing on site.

A key focus of conversations was our ongoing work with Ultimate Cell and recent live site trials. These showed measurable reductions in diesel use, improved efficiency, and lower emissions, all in real working conditions — with strong interest in practical, bridge technologies that support sustainability without compromising productivity.

There was also strong interest in heavy earthmoving equipment and durability-focused solutions, particularly for large-scale projects across infrastructure, housing and renewable energy.

It was a great opportunity highlight the work we’re continuing to deliver across Scotland, with ongoing investment in fleet, technical support and regional presence to meet growing demand.

Good conversations, good momentum, and plenty to follow up on 👍
