cylinders can be designed so their key combination can be changed without replacing the hardware?

The Mul‑T‑Lock 3‑in‑1 cylinder allows you to change the key combination using a working key. Once the changeover is done, any previous keys will no longer operate the cylinder.

This process can be performed up to 2 times on the same unit, giving landlords the flexibility to update the key set as needed while keeping the existing installation in place.

Thank you to everyone who visited us at the National Landlord Investment Show . A clear theme throughout the event was the ongoing challenges facing landlords, particularly around tenant changeovers, property access and maintaining security across rental portfolios.

There was strong interest in compliant approaches that streamline access management, improve oversight of keys and support smoother transitions between tenancies.

It was encouraging to see security increasingly recognised as a core part of effective property management, alongside tenant safety and operational efficiency.

We’re looking forward to the National Landlord Investment Show tomorrow where our focus will be on key control during tenant changeovers in rental properties.

When tenants move out, keys are often unreturned lost or duplicated which can create gaps in access control and increase security risk between tenancies.

The conversation will explore ways landlords can maintain control without disruption including flexible cylinder systems that allow access to be changed quickly between tenants.

This includes Mul‑T‑Lock’s 3‑in‑1 cylinder platform, which allows access to be changed without replacing the full cylinder, and MTL™300 Break Secure® 3XP Pro, which uses patented key control to help prevent unauthorised key copying and reducing cumbersome keyrings by supporting our one‑key house system.
