A warm welcome to DDI, Paul!

Please join us in welcoming Paul Day, our new Pre-Construction Manager, who joined the DDI team on 3rd August and has already settled in brilliantly!

Paul brings a wealth of experience across the construction and fit-out industries, having worked on major projects in the UK, Australia and internationally. His experience spans the entire project journey, from the early planning and design stages right through to construction and completion.

With such a fantastic background and knowledge behind him, we’re delighted to have Paul on board and look forward to seeing him put his experience to great use at DDI!

Welcome to the team, Paul!

Great progress continues on site at Fakenham as DDI continue to deliver on this project for Alliance Leisure.
This latest video and photos showcase the pool shell formation and the spray concrete application to the reinforced steel (re-bar) structure.
Also known as shotcrete, this process uses high-velocity air to spray concrete directly onto surfaces, creating a strong and durable structure without the need for traditional formwork.
It's fantastic to see this exciting project taking shape.

Please join us in welcoming our new Quantity Surveyor, Mark Boyce, to the DDI Projects team.

Mark brings valuable experience to the role, having previously worked as a Post-Tender QS, with the last two years of his career focused on internal partitions, drylining, and carpentry projects. He is also a Portsmouth University graduate, achieving an impressive 2:1 honours degree.

Since joining DDI, Mark has been working closely with our Senior Contracts Manager, Mark Warner (too many Mark’s in our office now though), on projects for Bravissimo and Gymbox. One of the things Mark has enjoyed most so far is the variety that comes with delivering complete projects, rather than concentrating on a single package of works.

We're also delighted that the recent Bravissimo Exeter project was successfully handed over, with the client thrilled with the finished result. As part of the team behind this achievement, Mark can be incredibly proud of being involved in such a smooth and successful first project completion.

Welcome to the team, Mark – we're pleased to have you on board and look forward to seeing your continued success with DDI Projects.

I thought I would share with you all, the link below. It was great to hear from Steve Hems Director of Service delivery, talking so positively of the progress at Alliance Leisure in Fakenham. This is going to be an amazing Sports Hub and we cannot wait to see the end result!

As part of DDI’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, we recently completed the installation of speed bumps at the local rugby club in Fakenham.
This initiative arose during the redevelopment of the Fakenham Sports Centre, where extensive demolition, construction, and reconfiguration work required the temporary closure of the main car park to staff and members. The rugby club kindly provided support during this period, and in recognition of their assistance, North Norfolk District Council and DDI Projects installed four rows of speed bumps and speed restriction signage along the club’s access road.
DDI Projects and the Council are extremely grateful for the rugby club’s cooperation and are pleased to have delivered these improvements as a token of appreciation for their support.

We’re proud to share the successful completion of another fantastic project by DDI Projects for Nine Points Property.

This inspiring transformation saw an existing church converted into a modern specialist school, delivering high-quality teaching facilities through extensive refurbishment and associated site works.

Dedicated to the UK’s care and education sectors, Nine Points Property continues to create spaces that make a real difference — and we’re delighted to have helped bring this vision to life.

Completed in April this year, the project is another great example of collaboration, innovation, and breathing new life into existing buildings for future generations.

Earlier this year, we were delighted to be approached by Szymon Bialek, a motivated student seeking work placement experience on our active site in Fakenham. Currently studying for a T-Level in Construction, Szymon was keen to gain hands-on insight into Site Management—and we were more than happy to support him.
Our Fakenham Leisure Centre project, which includes a new extension and swimming pool facility, provided the perfect environment for real-world learning. Szymon has been working closely with our Site Manager, Rick Bennett, alongside the wider team, gaining valuable on-site experience.
At DDI, we believe strongly in supporting the next generation by providing opportunities to develop practical skills in a live construction setting. We’re pleased to hear that Szymon is thoroughly enjoying his time with us and benefiting from the knowledge and guidance shared by the team.
It’s fantastic to receive such positive feedback, and we’re proud to play a part in supporting Szymon’s future in the construction industry.
