✨ Heritage Lime Rendering – First Coats Complete ✨

A great project to be working on this week – bringing this beautiful stone wall back to life using traditional lime render.

These photos show the process from exposed stonework through to the first two coats of lime render being applied. This stage is all about building up a breathable, flexible base that works with the building rather than against it. 🥳

Unlike modern cement, lime allows moisture to escape naturally, helping to protect the structure and preserve the character of older properties. It’s the correct method for heritage work and ensures longevity without trapping damp. 👍

✅️ You can see the scratch coat keyed in ready for the next layer, giving the perfect surface for the following coats to bond properly 👌

Looking forward to returning to apply the finishing coats and bringing it all together. ❤️

Stage 3 completed

Porch retiled and new ridge, lead flashing installed for the porch roof tying into the building now.

3 layers of lime rendering plus the first initial lime wash

Repointed with lime as it should be with this cobb building.

Copping stones laid with new render for garden wall.

Rear rerendered flat and smooth along with dwarf wall rounding edges.

Built to last a life time now Fox plastering has had its hands involed.

Thanks the team I've got with the extra pair of hands for the help now and again, top work men.

Lime work done to spec and per england heritage.

Releasing a once damaged cottage covered in wrong applications now able to breathe once again. ✅️

1890s cobb cottage getting its well deserved face-lift as Fox plastering restores the heritage, and life it needs.

Capping garden walls with more natural stone, replacing the terracotta tiles which did 0 favours.

Do it right, do it once with Fox plastering
