We are Oak Valley Developments, a bespoke landscape development company, specialising in high quality design, implementation & aftercare for clients throughout Hampshire.

We are currently looking to fill multiple positions within the company, allowing us to grow and keep up with the significant work flow we are taking on. Immediate start for the right candidates.

We need:

1 Professional & Experienced Hard Landscaper to work along side us, providing high quality work within our landscaping projects.

REQUIREMENTS:
-Experience required
-Driving license required
-Punctuality and Professionalism
-High attention to detail required
-Available a minimum of 5 days weekly
-Competency in all areas of Landscaping
-References would be preferred

BENEFITS:
-Very competitive rate of pay
-Company van included, taxed & Insured
-Paid days off with further added yearly.

-Potential to move into a higher role within the company as we grow.

Also required:

2 Experienced general labourers to assist our landscaping team with general material moving etc.

Laying Porcelain The Proper Way | Long Lasting Quality.

1. Proper preparation is key. Before starting to lay any product, thought about the materials used and ground condition is vital. For example, is the ground stable enough to lay on, or is the current drainage sustainable?

2. Ensure to always create a suitable sub structure, we prefer to use at least 150mm of sub stone, mainly a type 1 granite. This will guarantee, once compacted, no unwanted movement.

3. Make sure to use to a full bed of sand and cement, mixed to a 4:1 ratio. Plasticiser will help create a smoother, more workable muck.

4. This step is equally as important as any of the previous. ALWAYS slurry the back of your porcelain slabs. This will ensure they do not come loose once laid. Due to the nature of porcelain, it doesn’t bind as well as some other products, such as sandstone, so a slurry will stop any future movement and make for a stronger hold.

5. When grouting ensure to use a well compacted product, whether that be a sand and cement mix or a brush in product. The better compaction you get, the longer the pointing will last.

One of our past favourites! 🌺

Originally this garden proved mostly unusable for our clients, with nothing more than a sloping grass area that was hard to maintain and didn’t really serve a purpose.

We solved this problem by creating 2 levels within the garden, both serving different purposes. With the area immediately accessible from the patio doors being transformed into a large porcelain patio area for dining and entertainment, we instantly gave the client something usable. We also levelled and re-turfed the higher tier to allow for some greenery and also somewhere for the young ones to play.

Ultimately this property gained maximum potential from a previously wasted space. With the added touch of garden lighting to allow usability both day and night.
