📣You look like a man who likes FREE CHIPS?

Throughout July, we are offering a free cone of chips to every single adult man that comes to the shop and says they’re out for a walk with a friend. And it’s seriously as simple as that. No strings. You don’t need to buy anything else. You can if you want - but you don’t have to. Just mention ‘Chip Fork Walk’.

We recognise there is a massive problem for men under 50. Statistically, the biggest threat to your life is yourself. Su***de is the leading cause of death in this group.

We want to encourage a genuine conversation among friends and get people into a healthy habit of making time to connect with a friend, in person and properly check in. What better way to get into this habit than taking us up on a free cone of chips? This could be one of the healthiest snacks you ever have!

So - for the rest of July, during our normal chippy evening opening times, if you come to the shop with a friend and tell us you’re out for a walk, we’ll give you two free cones of chips. One each. Please don’t come as a big group - we think this will work best for people having an engaged one-on-one conversation, so we’re only offering this to pairs. Take your chips with you and ask your mate how he’s getting on… but seriously how is he getting on?

We get it, this isn’t going to solve any major problems… but encouraging blokes to have a proper chat about what’s maybe troubling them could really make a difference. And we think that’s worth a cone of chips! If you’re reading this and think this could help - share it with a mate. Why would you not take us up on free chips? It’s not a cry for help, it’s free chips… but it could be the start of a good habit that could prevent things building to a scary place.

As with anything like this, there has to be rules, so here goes:
Only available to men 18+. You must be at the shop with your chosen friend - we have to see you’re here for the reasons outlined above. Available only in the evening when the chippy is normally open (see our google evening opening hours) in July 2026. No purchase necessary. We reserve the right to withdraw this promotion without warning and service is at the managers discretion.

We’re trying to do something good here for people in our community, please don’t let it turn into something nasty.

FOOTBALL ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️

The new season is fast approaching, and with it comes the return of pre-season training! ⚽️

The lads will be back at it on Tuesday 23rd June and Thursday 25th June, with training continuing on the same schedule throughout pre-season unless stated otherwise.

📍 Rayrigg Meadows⏰ 6:30pm – 8:00pm

After Tuesday’s session, the clubhouse will be open and the showers available, giving everyone the chance to freshen up before settling in to watch England in action 🏴

Whether you're a familiar face returning for another season or looking to get involved for the first time, we'd love to see you there.

Bring your boots, bring your mates, and let's get ready for another big season ahead.

FOOTBALL ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️

Windermere SC are delighted to announce that James Wilkinson will be our new Second Team Manager for the 2026/27 season.
After 10 years involved in junior football, James now makes the step into senior football, bringing with him a wealth of experience, commitment and passion for player development.
Our new Second Team Manager, James Wilkinson:
“I’m incredibly proud to be taking on the role of Second Team Manager at Windermere SC. After spending the last 10 years involved in junior football, helping young players develop both on and off the pitch, I felt the time was right to take the next step into senior football.
Junior football has given me some of the best memories, friendships and experiences I could have asked for, and I’m grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey. Now I’m excited for a new challenge and the opportunity to work with senior players within such a fantastic club.
I’d like to thank the committee and everyone at Windermere SC for putting their faith in me. I’m looking forward to working alongside Dan Hicks and the players as we continue to build for the future. Pre-season can’t come soon enough and I’m excited to get started.”

✨ Bathroom Transformation ✨

From dated and tired to fresh, modern and practical 🔥

We transformed this old bathroom into a stunning new shower room featuring a large walk-in shower, modern panelling, herringbone flooring and clean contemporary finishes throughout 👌🏼

✨ FULL PROPERTY TRANSFORMATION ✨

From dark, dated and tired… to a stunning modern holiday home 😍🏡

This has been one of our favourite projects to date and exactly the type of restoration work we love getting involved in 🔨

At JW & Sons we fully project managed this renovation from start to finish, coordinating every stage of the job and all trades involved to help bring the customer’s vision to life 🙌

The project included:

✅ Full rip out throughout
✅ Ceilings overboarded and re-plastered
✅ 90% of walls fully re-skimmed
✅ Full rewire
✅ New plumbing throughout
✅ Stunning open plan kitchen & living space
✅ Beautiful modern shower room
✅ New flooring, lighting, woodwork & finishes throughout
✅ Front garden transformed into a relaxing seating area ☀️🍷

A midweek trip to face Holker Old Boys and our first match for 4 weeks, nearly an hour on the road on a Wednesday night 🤦‍♂️

The first half was a real stalemate. Both sides were organised, competitive, and limited each other to very few clear-cut chances. It was a solid, disciplined performance from both teams going into the break level.

The second half is where the game really came to life. Holker struck first with an absolute rocket 🚀 from outside the area – a top finish that gave them the lead.

The Heathwaite lads responded brilliantly. A long clearance from Zack caused problems, and Josh ⚽️reacted quickest to take his chance and bring us level.

From there, it was a proper game of football with both sides pushing. A massive moment came when little Swinny 🧤pulled off an outstanding save from a free kick to keep us in it.

We then took the lead from a wicked delivery by Arthur from a corner, and Toby ⚽️ was there at the back post to finish and make it 1-2.

A great game overall with both teams giving everything right to the final whistle.

Arthur Harro 👏 well done mate.
