The dream garden room gym & home office in one 🌤️

Most people don’t think about a garden room as a gym, but it makes a lot of sense once you see it in real life.

This one was designed to give our client a private space to train, with natural light and enough room to move properly, without having to leave the house.

It also needed to work as a home office, so we split the space with a stud wall to create two separate zones that don’t interfere with each other.

A dual-use space, designed around how it’s actually used day to day.

What does £35,000 actually get you? Here's a real example.

The Martin is a 6m x 4m garden bar we built in Windermere. The client wanted a darts room, a fully fitted bar, a big screen for football nights with mates, and bi-fold doors opening out into the garden for summer. That's exactly what we built.

Real slate façades and alternating-width cladding on the outside, integrated decking and up-and-down lighting, and a properly fitted interior with premium materials throughout. Nothing added for show, nothing cut to keep the headline price down.

When you understand what goes into a build like this, the cost makes sense. This is what a long-term investment in your home actually looks like.

Proportion becomes more important than ever. The right footprint, vertical glazing to maximise light without taking up floor space, storage that's integrated into the design rather than added as an afterthought. When it's thought through properly, a compact garden room can have just as much impact as a larger one.

One of the questions we get asked a lot is whether you can add plumbing and heating to a garden room. The answer is yes, and it's more straightforward than most people think.

The best way to think about it is as an extension of your home. Every build comes with electrics and heating as standard, including downlighters, plug sockets, and a smart panel heater operated from your phone. If you want to go further, you can upgrade to air conditioning or a ground source heat pump as part of your specification.

Plumbing is just as flexible. Whether you want a plumbing-free kitchen or toilet solution, or a full system installed, there are options at different price points and we'll walk through all of them with you depending on your budget and how you plan to use the space.
