Celebrating 200 ‘Years of Train Travel’ since 1825 👍🏻

Happy 200th Anniversary of the birth of the modern railway!

27th September 2025 marks 200 years since the opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1825. On this momentous day, George Stephenson’s ‘improved locomotive engine’, ‘Locomotion No. 1’, completed its inaugural journey of 21 miles from Shildon colliery to Stockton, via Darlington.

The new concrete mixing works will be open soon ready to start some structural repairs 👍🏻

The challenge was on, build an embankment in one quick session.

Shape the embankment with foam, fit piling sheets, apply quick drying plaster, spray paint brown and then a basic coat of static grass even though the plaster was still wet!

Job done ready for clients visit in the evening 👍🏻
