Hi all, this was a repair I carried out last week on a Worcester Greenstar 24ri. The boiler hadn’t been serviced for a few years and the burner seals had perished leaving combustion products spilling from the burner and the heat causing surrounding components to melt or go brittle.

On this job, I was asked to carryout a boiler service on an Ideal Combi and investigate why it was constantly losing pressure with no visible leaks.

Upon inspection, I found the main heat exchanger had cracked internally, running into the condense trap. I replaced the main heat exchanger and carried out a full service.

While carrying out a service on a 5 year old ideal logic heat 15, I discovered a crack on the sump. This was leaking corrosive condense water and causing internal damage to the boiler. I replaced the sump and carried out a full service, leaving the boiler as good as new 🔥 👍🏻
