Precision is delighted to announce that our 2 Weeks Lead Time is Back! 😍

We recently had our lead time stretched out due to a large uplift in demand. Within this time, Precision had a record production week and lifted factory capacity every day to deal with this surge in demand. 👊

Our factory staff lead by Tom Hunter, Factory Supervisor - Tam McLaughlin and Aluminium Production Manager - Scott Sommerville have done an incredible job in organising our production schedule and managing the team to crawl back the lead time to 2 weeks. 👏

There has also been a number of experienced additions to the Precision Team. This has massively helped to deal with demand. 😎

To every one of our production team - Thank you for all of your efforts. You are a team like no other, the best in the industry. 👏

This was obviously a frustrating time for customers, and we’d like to thank you all for standing by Precision and trusting in our quality. 🤝

We work with the best installers in Scotland. With your excellent fitting work of our products, together we are changing the Scottish Industry for the better. ❤️

If you’re looking for a Fabrication Partner - Install the best windows on the Scottish Market, cut by the best Machinery in the Industry, Fabricated by the best Staff in the Game. 🙌

Even our competitors know that. Ask what they’d fit in their own house. 😎

Choose Precision. Choose the Best. 2 Weeks Lead. ✅

It’s time to make the change. 🆕

It starts here.👇

GROUND BREAKING 🏗️

A new chapter is taking shape at Precision Windows & Doors.

Following rapid growth in demand for aluminium windows and doors, we are making a major investment in a brand-new, purpose-built manufacturing facility on our existing site.

Pushing 10,000 square feet, the new factory will be dedicated entirely to aluminium production, providing the additional capacity, technology and infrastructure required to support the continued growth of this increasingly important sector of the fenestration market.

Precision manufactures exclusively using SMARTS aluminium profile systems and is proud to be the largest manufacturer of the system in Scotland. This latest investment reflects both our confidence in the future of aluminium and our commitment to remaining at the forefront of its continued growth across the industry.

Moving aluminium production out of our existing uPVC factory will also release essential manufacturing space, allowing us to increase uPVC output to as many as 1,500 frames per week and better meet ever-growing customer demand as we plan the next phase of our uPVC expansion.

To help drive this next phase forward, Bill Robertson has joined the business in a new Business Development Manager role, with a dedicated focus on expanding our aluminium division and strengthening our position within the commercial and trade markets.

Members of our senior management team were on site to mark the start of the project, with Ewan Hunter officially breaking ground in what colleagues are describing as a rare and historic appearance of manual labour.

A major investment in our people, our production capability and the future growth of both aluminium and uPVC manufacturing at Precision.

Friday, July 31st, 2026.

22 Years of Precision Windows and Doors.

22 Years of Unbroken Trading History.

In what has been a remarkable journey, we’re only getting started.

Like every year, Precision has grown however, the past year has been our largest yet, which saw uPVC sales grow a further 20% and our Aluminium poised to break last years sales figures in an 8 month period.

Factory output has also increased in this time with Precision consistently manufacturing between 1100-1200 uPVC products every week on top of the increased demand for Aluminium.

Thank you to all of our customers, past and present. It has been an honour to serve you all. Your trust in our product and our people is, and will always, be so gratefully appreciated.

Built upon family roots, Precision was established in 2004 as a small local enterprise in the heart of Carfin.

15 employees, small premises, limited machinery but one shared ambition.

Growth and ambition prompted a move to a larger facility in Bellshill in 2015. Although entering a period of growth, this was still a massive gamble. Higher operating costs, higher demands, more staff, and increased pressure to deliver.

In 2020, further growth prompted another move in what was our most ambitious step. Covid struck at a crucial point for Precision, moving to a facility in Newmains in our largest growth phase yet. But we got through it. Again.

Fast forward to 2026, a team of over 140 strong, passionate and, like minded individuals across our Manufacturing Site in Newmains and 4 Trade Centres in Stirling, Bellshill, Kilmarnock and Dunfermline all coming together to produce the best quality the industry has to offer.

To be recognised as the Largest Scottish Manufacturer of VEKA uPVC and SMART Aluminium is a great honour, but we’re not here by chance.

Significant investment over this period of time in state-of-the-art machinery and the best industry professionals places Precision at the Top of the Industry.

It’s been a remarkable journey and one that nobody seen coming.

Everyone that has served Precision - Our success is down to your hard work. Turning up every single day and having that shared vision which seemed impossible in 2004. Thank you for your unbelievable and continual efforts.

A final thank you goes to our suppliers, your continued support over the years has been crucial in the success of the business.

It’s been 22 years, but this is only the beginning.

Here’s to the another 22 years of providing the Scottish Market with the best products the fenestration industry has to offer.

Precision Windows and Doors is delighted to announce the appointment of Bill Robertson as Business Development Manager and Architectural Advisor.

A remarkable career which includes Apprenticeship, University Fellowship and International Acclaim - Bill is an outstanding addition to Precision, highlighting the direction and ambition of our Aluminium Manufacture.

In 2023, Precision started our own Aluminium Manufacturing. Proudly fabricating the SMART Architectural Aluminium, Bill Robertson was instrumental in this process by setting up Precision and implementing the systems that would lead to future success.
Aluminium has become a defining factor in our manufacturing with Sales Figures growing year on year. From last year, Precision is poised to hit the Total Sales Figures of 2025 this August ’26. Remarkable.

In an illustrious career which saw Bill working for many different top firms, he announced his retirement from SMART, in April 2026. A 10-Year Tenure working as a BDM and ASM, which saw him run the Northeast of England, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. Bill travelled across the UK and Ireland representing the company at many events and projects providing CPD’s to Architects and Main Contractors and provided technical support and assistants on many large contracts.

We are delighted to welcome Bill and his experience to Precision as we look to grow this section even further. His knowledge and network will be crucial as Precision continues to provide installers and main contractors the best Aluminium products on the market.

Bill will be endeavouring to engage with architects, builders, and main contractors at the concept stage or the earliest stages in the design so that all aspects of projects can be discussed and specified rather than have to be value engineered at the procurement stage

At 75, Bill still has so much to offer to the industry, and we are delighted to have him here.

“If there is a piece of Glass on any building then we at Precision will have a product to suit your requirements.” - Bill Robertson

Read Bill’s Journey Below:

Bill’s international reputation as an expert in the use of engineered Timber, Stainless Steel and Aluminium in architectural structures is firmly established. Bill’s outstanding reputation in the fenestration industry is earned and illustrated by his lifelong commitment to the utilisation of natural resources responsibly.

In a remarkable career spanning more than five decades, beginning as an apprentice joiner on Clydeside in the 1960s, Bill has built an outstanding reputation for his knowledge of natural materials and their application in engineered products. His passion for innovation, technical excellence and education has made him one of the industry's most respected figures.

Throughout his career, Bill has been involved in many prestigious projects, including the AstraZeneca Research Facility and the Welsh Assembly. However, the most notable was undoubtedly the Scottish Parliament Building. Bill led the design and delivery of an innovative engineered timber structure externally clad in stainless steel, creating a state-of-the-art solution capable of withstanding terrorist bomb attacks following the tragic events of 11 September 2001. The project saw Bill take responsibility for everything from concept design through to managing a multinational production team across Germany, France, Austria and the UK.

Recognising that the UK was lagging behind in the adoption of engineered timber technologies, Bill coordinated the formation of the Rapid Technology Transfer Group (RTTG) over twenty years ago. As Chairman, a role which he still holds voluntarily today, Bill helped establish the UK's occupational standards for engineered wood manufacturing while providing technical advice to Government on bridging the gap between apprenticeships and higher education. Through its MiUni initiative, the RTTG continues to help businesses strengthen their workforce by combining workplace learning with university qualifications.

In recognition of his unique contribution to engineered natural materials, innovative design and education, the University of Derby appointed Bill as a Visiting Professional Fellow in Engineered Wood Interface Technologies in 2009.

Bill later brought his expertise into the aluminium extrusion sector with Senior Architectural Systems, where he spent 11 successful years as Business Development Manager while leading a dedicated Special Projects team. During this time, he headed the development of the UK's first engineered composite window and façade system, combining the sustainability of engineered spruce with the performance of aluminium. The system marked a significant milestone for the industry and demonstrated Bill's ability to combine innovation with practical commercial solutions.

At the age of 65, while many people were considering retirement, Bill embarked on another successful chapter by joining Smart Architectural Systems. As Business Development Manager and Architectural Sales Manager, he looked after the North East of England, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Over the following decade, Bill became a familiar face across the architectural community, representing Smart at major industry events, delivering CPDs to architects and main contractors, and providing invaluable technical support and on-site assistance on projects throughout the UK and Ireland.

One of Bill's final engagements before retiring from Smart on 30 April 2026 saw him working alongside the Urban Realm team to present this year's Scottish Design Awards on behalf of Smart Systems, recognising excellence in the Health Building/Project and Education Building/Project categories.

Most people would have been content to retire after such an accomplished career. Not Bill.

At the age of 75, Bill has chosen to begin another exciting chapter by joining Precision Windows & Doors. Bringing with him decades of unrivalled experience as a Business Development Manager, Architectural Adviser and industry innovator, Bill will support the company's vision, strengthen relationships across the architectural and commercial sectors, and help drive further growth within the aluminium and commercial markets.

Throughout his career, Bill has consistently helped businesses recognise and respond to new market opportunities. His work with both Senior Architectural Systems and Smart Architectural Systems has influenced countless commercial projects, where his technical knowledge and design expertise have been instrumental to success. Beyond the UK, Bill has shared his passion internationally, delivering presentations and technical guidance in India, Canada and the United States, educating architects, fabricators and installers on the importance of good design and supply chain integrity.

Experience like Bill's is exceptionally rare. His enthusiasm for the industry remains as strong today as it was when he first picked up his tools over 50 years ago.

We're incredibly proud to welcome Bill to the Precision family and look forward to the knowledge, passion and experience he will bring to the business.

Welcome to Precision, Bill.
