Skipping a designer is an expensive gamble. πŸ“βš οΈ

Expecting a magazine-quality garden straight from a standard builder without a detailed technical specification usually leads to shifting paving, cracked walls, and costly fixes a few seasons down the line.

Design oversight secures your capital before any machinery arrives on site. We calculate the engineering parameters first, then match your project with trusted specialist contractors who execute Peter’s drawings down to the millimeter. πŸ› οΈπŸ‘

Throwback to Hoghton. 🌾🏑

This project was all about connecting the home's warm stone extension directly into the landscape.

Peter introduced a sunken seating area with a central fire pit, framed by split-face stone retaining walls and clean timber decking. Oak archways line the gravel walkway, leading past lush, bee-friendly borders packed with purple verbena, salvia, and bright yellow rudbeckia. 🐝🌸

It's a perfect balance of clean structural lines and soft, English-countryside planting.

"Is my garden too big or too small for a design?" πŸ“πŸ‘

It’s one of our most common questions, but size is never the limiting factor. In fact, we’ve never turned a project down because of its footprint!

Small urban gardens usually need the most detailed spatial planning to maximize every inch, while larger country plots are all about connecting wide open zones without losing structure. Big or small, the core design process is exactly the same. 🌿

Turning basic lawn into a Mediterranean paradise 🀩

For Julie's property, Peter built a bespoke Mediterranean-inspired palette using palms, phormiums, and vibrant cordylines. The bold reds, oranges, and yellows add rich natural texture while effortlessly softening the garden's level changes.

Here is how the entire layout came together. πŸ‘‡

A tricky slope shouldn't mean a disconnected garden. πŸŒΏπŸ“

For this project, the goal was to completely transform the journey from the house down to the existing pond. Instead of fighting the steep banking, Peter softened it with a sweeping, Piet Oudolf-inspired mix of perennials and grasses that naturally guide you down to the water.

Words don't really do it justice - have a look for yourself πŸ‘‡πŸƒ

The quality of materials you use in bringing your garden design to life is almost as important as the design itself πŸ”¨

Do it wrong, and in 5 years time it's a mess. That's why we always advise to trust the landscape contractor's judgement, and let them work their magic ✨

Yesterday we shared the finished garden showcase from our Whalley project, but every great build starts long before any ground is broken. Here is a look back at the original concept visuals we created for the space! ✍️✨

Before any contractors step on site, Peter maps out the layout down to the millimeter - testing light levels, seating positions, and pathway flows. Comparing these 3D renders to yesterday's photos, it’s incredible to see how closely the finished garden mirrors the original design vision, from the corten steel features right down to the outdoor seating areas.

Even a typical suburban plot can feel like a private sanctuary with the right layout. For this project in Whalley, Peter wanted to break up basic fence lines and bring in plenty of color, texture, and life.

We added dark timber posts and laser-cut corten steel screens to create vertical focal points and subtle privacy. Simple stepping stones guide you through the lawn, surrounded by rich, easy-flowing borders filled with purple verbena, tall grasses, and pops of orange.

It’s a simple, elegant mix of raw materials and soft planting that makes the whole space feel bigger, more private, and full of wildlife.

Stop scrolling, and take a look at this stunning project we completed not too long ago in the Wigan area 🀩

We had the chance to visit just over a week back at dusk - the concepts were stunning. The reality's even better.

We won't bore you with a huge caption - it speaks for itself. We hope you adore it as much as we do.
