A smart energy home isn’t just about generating electricity. It’s about using the right energy at the right time.

☀️ Morning: solar is still low, so the home may use stored battery energy or grid electricity.
🌤️ As solar rises: more of the home can run directly from your own generation.
🔋 Midday surplus: excess solar can be stored for later or used for flexible loads.
🚗 Afternoon: your EV or battery can charge while surplus solar is available.
🌙 Evening: stored energy can help support the home once solar generation falls.
⚡ Overnight: if your tariff offers cheaper rates, the battery or EV can top up ready for the next day.

The exact timings will vary depending on your home, solar generation, battery settings and electricity tariff.

Generate when you can. Store when it makes sense. Use energy when it is most cost-effective.

The biggest challenge? Installing structural screw foundations on a steep embankment — something even the screw supplier said they’d never seen done like this before.

The result is a powerful, discreet solar array generating enough energy to support both a substantial countryside home and its swimming pool.
