Word of mouth recommendations are still one of the biggest compliments we can receive.

This recent door and window installation came to us because we'd previously completed a garden room for the customer's father, who was happy enough with our work to recommend Shires to his family.

From the initial quotation through to installation, the feedback was fantastic.

There's something particularly satisfying about returning to work for a previous customer.

We recently completed another project for a customer who had used Shires before and decided to come back to us again. In our industry, that's one of the biggest compliments you can receive.

When you're comparing quotes, the cheapest isn't always the best and the most expensive certainly isn't always necessary.

This customer came to us after researching Smart Roof options online and obtaining five different quotations ranging from around £2,500 right up to £15,000.

After considering all the options, they chose Shires because they felt the price was right, the advice was honest, and they had confidence in the company.

The feedback after completion was fantastic.

Ruth's office communication was described as "FAB", Chris was called a "brilliant guy", Tucker's plastering was praised for being efficient and clean, and the electrical work was completed exactly as expected.

Another conservatory transformed into a room that can be enjoyed every day of the year ✔️

This customer originally found us through one of our Facebook adverts and chose Shires because they felt the communication and service throughout the quotation process gave them confidence they were dealing with a reputable company.

The feedback for the team was fantastic from start to finish.

Ruth in the office was praised for keeping everything running smoothly, with the customer commenting there were "No issues at all" throughout the project.

Chris received great feedback for both his workmanship and communication, keeping the customer informed throughout, turning up when he said he would, and working incredibly hard while still finding time for a chat.

Tucker's plastering work and Ally's electrical work were also highly praised, with the whole project running exactly as the customer had hoped.

The best part of the feedback was hearing how the room is already being used. It's now serving as a home office, and with the weather we've had recently, the customer commented there is no way it would have been comfortable to use before the upgrade..

That's what these projects are all about — turning a space that was rarely used into a proper room.

Reviews like this mean the world to us ❤️

This customer nearly gave up on the idea of building their garden room altogether after receiving some eye-watering quotes elsewhere and having a few disappointing experiences with trades since moving to the area.

Thankfully they gave us a call.

From the first conversation with Ruth, through the design process with Gavin, the build with Wayne and the team, installation with Brian and Jack, plastering by Tucker, and electrics by Ally, they told us not a single thing went wrong and everything felt straightforward from start to finish.

One comment that stuck with me during the final inspection was when they said:

“We wish we’d known about Shires sooner.”

That really says it all.

Another stunning garden room completed ✔️

This project came to us after the customers had almost given up on the idea altogether following some eye-watering quotes elsewhere — including one national company quoting around £65,000.

After seeing one of our adverts they decided to give us a call, not expecting much and assuming a Shrewsbury company probably wouldn’t travel that far. Thankfully they did.

Gavin worked closely with them to redesign the original concept into something that kept the wow factor while bringing things back into the budget they had in mind.

Ruth in the office also received brilliant feedback throughout the project, with the customers saying they’d built up a great relationship with her over the phone and shared plenty of laughs along the way. Her communication and support throughout the build clearly made a big impression.

The feedback for the whole team was incredible from start to finish.

Wayne and the building team received huge praise for how hard they worked and the care they took around the property, especially with difficult access over a brook. Brian and Jack were described as perfectionists who genuinely cared about getting every detail right, while Tucker’s plastering and Ally’s electrical work left a massive impression as well.

The customers repeatedly said:
“Not a thing went wrong and everything was straightforward.”

That’s exactly what we aim for.

Another beautiful garden room completed for a lovely couple who contacted us after spotting our showroom.

After speaking with Ruth and having a look around the displays, they booked in for a quotation with Gavin, who worked closely with them to create a bespoke design around their ideas and requirements.

They ultimately chose Shires after hearing from a neighbour about how we’d previously stepped in and completed a conservatory project after another company had left the job unfinished halfway through — exactly the kind of reputation we work hard to build.

Wayne and the building team received huge praise throughout the project for their work ethic, attention to detail, cleanliness, and professionalism. The customers were especially impressed with the care taken around the property, particularly while using the mini digger, and repeatedly commented on how tidy and trustworthy all the lads were.

Jim carried out both the survey and installation work and again received fantastic feedback for his workmanship, cleanliness, and finishing details. Tucker completed the plastering and even went above and beyond by finishing an extra section not included in the contract simply because he wanted everything to look right.

Ally handled the electrical side and impressed the customers so much they’ve already arranged for him to return later in the year for further work at the property.

The customers are delighted with the finished garden room and said they would happily recommend Shires to others.

From nervous… to over the moon ⭐

This conservatory upgrade came from a customer who admitted they were initially very wary about having tradesmen back in their home after a bad experience elsewhere.

We spent time talking everything through, discussing ideas, and making sure they felt comfortable with both the process and the company before moving ahead.

The end result included:
✔ New conservatory roof
✔ Pelmet with downlights
✔ Updated window design
✔ A much more modern and usable space

Really proud of this one because it shows how important trust and communication are alongside the actual workmanship.
