BIG CHANGES FOR BUILDING SAFETY ACT:
As of October 1st, 2023, large changes to the Building Safety Act (BSA) have come into place and have determined changes to roles of the Principal Designer, Principal Contractor and Duty Holders/ Clients. The changes to BSA are a direct result of safety concerns occupants of high-rise buildings after Grenfell Tower tragedy with the intention of improving the design, construction and management of higher risk buildings.
The team at Lewis Architecture are 3 weeks into a 6-week RIBA course teaching us the new roles and responsibilities of us as architects and everyone who is involved in the project.
