Looking for an opportunity that could actually go somewhere?

Affordable Architectural is growing, and we’re looking for someone ambitious to join the business on a flexible basis.

This could suit a college student, university student, graduate or early-career individual who already has a reasonable understanding of CAD, architectural drawing or the built environment and wants an opportunity to develop much further.

This is not a short-term work experience placement.

We’re looking for someone who can become increasingly involved in the delivery of real residential projects and, over time, take on greater responsibility within the business.

You could be involved with:

AutoCAD and architectural drawings
Residential planning projects
Drawing amendments and project documentation
Client communication
Planning applications
Measured surveys and site visits
Helping manage projects as your role develops
Who are we looking for?

Someone who is:

Confident enough with AutoCAD to contribute to real work
Proactive and able to work things out
Reliable and organised
Comfortable communicating professionally
Genuinely interested in architecture, property and development
Ambitious and interested in taking on more responsibility
Looking for something they can grow with, rather than simply adding experience to their CV

You do not need to be professionally qualified, and professional practice experience isn’t essential.

However, this is not a role where every basic skill can be taught from scratch — you should already have a reasonable foundation and be ready to develop it through real work.

We’re Growing – Freelance Architectural Opportunity

Affordable Architectural is looking for a talented and ambitious individual to support us during a busy period of growth.

We are interested in hearing from architecture or architectural technology students, graduates, and individuals with suitable residential design experience who would like to work with us on a flexible, self-employed basis.

The arrangement would initially begin as a trial collaboration to help manage our current workload. However, for the right person, there is genuine potential for this to develop into a substantial, long-term role within the business.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Confident using AutoCAD
• Comfortable communicating professionally with clients
• Proactive, organised and able to manage their own workload
• Interested in residential architecture and property development
• Willing to learn and take on increasing responsibility
• Able to drive, currently learning, or willing to travel for future site visits

Experience with planning applications, measured surveys, administration and residential projects would be beneficial, although it is not essential.

A degree or current studies in architecture, architectural technology, construction or another built-environment subject would also be advantageous.

This is more than an opportunity for occasional drafting work.

Our long-term aim is to find someone who can become a key part of Affordable Architectural gradually taking ownership of projects, supporting clients and helping manage the day-to-day delivery of the business as we continue to grow.

For someone who demonstrates the right commitment, ability and initiative, there is genuine scope to progress into a senior position and potentially explore a future partnership opportunity.
