Bottega Veneta | Selfridges, London W1
Another exceptional natural stone installation delivered for Bottega Veneta at Selfridges, London W1.
The design brief was deceptively simple:
• 40mm solid Verde Alpi tops, cut from block with no joints.
• A sculptural kidney-shaped pedestal base, manufactured as a single seamless piece.
• 30mm solid stone shelves.
All parts were internally CNC-milled to reduce weight while accommodating integrated fixings and concealed LED lighting.
Behind that brief lay an incredibly demanding manufacturing process.
The project began at the Verde Alpi quarry, where we personally selected a single block of stone to ensure perfect consistency of colour, veining and character throughout the installation. From this block we produced two 40mm slabs, one 30mm slab and a smaller block from which the sculptural kidney-shaped pedestal was machined.
With an extremely challenging programme, every stage had to be carefully coordinated, from block selection and transport to the manufacturing facility, through CNC machining, finishing, transport and final delivery.
To satisfy the site’s strict weight restrictions, both the pedestal and shelving were precision engineered using our advanced 5-axis CNC technology. Material was strategically removed from hidden areas, dramatically reducing weight while preserving the appearance, strength and structural integrity of solid natural stone. The concealed machining also allowed integrated bar fixings, LED lighting and removable access panels without compromising the clean, monolithic design.
The result is a seamless installation celebrating the beauty of Verde Alpi while demonstrating what is possible when advanced engineering meets traditional stone craftsmanship.
A unique installation, and a fitting result for one of the world’s most prestigious luxury brands.
As always, we would like to thank our clients for their continued trust and support.
