Built through collaboration, this home combines SIP panels, triple glazing, MVHR and high-performance construction to create a beautiful, comfortable and energy-efficient home.

Proud to share… I’ve passed!

Over the past few weeks I’ve been studying to become a Certified Passive House Tradesperson, and I’m incredibly proud to say…

I’ve officially passed.

This qualification isn’t about collecting certificates.

It’s about giving our clients greater confidence that we’re continually investing in the latest building science, construction methods and high-performance building techniques.

As builders, we have a responsibility to keep learning.

Homes are changing.

Clients are demanding healthier, more energy-efficient and more comfortable places to live—and rightly so.

Throughout this course I’ve gained a deeper understanding of:

✔ High-performance building envelopes
✔ Airtight construction and thermal bridge reduction
✔ Summer overheating prevention
✔ Ventilation and healthy indoor air quality
✔ Quality assurance on site
✔ The principles behind delivering genuinely low-energy homes

This doesn’t mean JMW is suddenly changing what we build.

It means we’re becoming even better at delivering extensions, renovations and new homes that perform exceptionally well for the families who live in them.

Over the coming months you’ll see us sharing far more content around:

🃏🎭 From a crazy idea… to carnival day.

6 weeks ago we started with timber, paint, screws, smoke machines and a vision to create something special for the people of Royal Wootton Bassett.

After countless late nights, laughs, stress, sawdust, problem solving and a whole lot of teamwork… yesterday we finally got to bring our 2026 carnival float to life at the Wootton Bassett Carnival.

Seeing the crowds lining the streets, hearing everyone cheering and watching the reactions to the Joker and Gotham themed float made every single hour worth it. 🦇💨🃏

A massive thank you to the Wootton Bassett Carnival committee for once again putting together such an incredible event for the whole community. The amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to make days like this happen is unbelievable, and the town should be very proud of what you all create year after year.

Thank you as well to everybody who came out to support the parade, wave, cheer, take photos and enjoy the experience with us. We truly hope our float brought smiles, excitement and a little bit of chaos to the streets of Bassett 😈

🎭🃏 “And here… we… go…”

This weekend is a BIG weekend for the community of Royal Wootton Bassett as the for 2026… and we cannot wait to finally reveal what we’ve been building behind the scenes. 🔥

Late nights… sawdust… paint… smoke… chaos… and just a little madness 🤡

We thought we would give everyone a very small glimpse of what’s in store this year… although The Joker wasn’t too happy about revealing his secrets early 👀💨

Heroes… villains… and a whole lot of mayhem is coming to Bassett this weekend.

When the big bit turns up… 🚨💪

21 seconds of organised chaos as the glulam ridge beam gets craned into place on our timber-framed SIP extension at The 1803 Project.

Big lift ✔️
Tight tolerances ✔️
Lots of pointing and “left a bit… no, MY left” ✔️

This is one of those moments where the whole build suddenly feels real — everything locks together and the extension starts to show its shape.

Huge shoutout to the crane driver for making it look easier than it actually is 👏

🔥 Great progress on this timber frame extension! 🔨

The structure is up and really starting to take shape. The timber frame is now complete, first fix electrics are in, the property is in the dry with the standing seam roof and walls well underway.

We’re now fully plaster-boarding and getting everything ready for the plasterer — always a satisfying stage where the space truly starts to feel like a home.

Huge credit to the team for keeping quality and momentum high on site 👏
