A fairly complicated roof for a relatively small extension, but it was light work for our friends . 💪🏽

The boys followed closely behind and got us fully watertight just in time for yesterday’s downpours. Perfect timing. 👌🏼

Inside, we’ve completed the knock-through into the existing bedroom, along with a new doorway into the existing box room, which will become the new en-suite.

The shower enclosure and new studwork are now formed and ready for first-fix services to get underway Tuesday.

Some really good progress across our sites last week — plenty more to come. 🔨

THE BIG BUILD

Cracking start to this project

The existing rear extension has now been carefully removed, making way for the new extension and the substantial retaining wall that will transform the rear of the property.

The new reinforced foundations for the retaining wall are complete, with the first deliveries of materials now on site — including all of the project’s bricks and 1,100 concrete blocks for the retaining wall.

Internally, the full strip-out is well underway, while the retaining wall continues to rise.

This infill extension is flying! 👌🏼

The team absolutely cracked on last week, getting the joists and flooring in and the structure up to plate.

The roof has started this week and, all being well, we should have it in the dry by Friday. 🏠

The knock-throughs are also well underway, so there’s plenty happening on site and the progress is really starting to show.

Last week we started this infill extension, 4 & half days and this is what you can achieve when you’ve got the right team on site

This will be a double-storey extension, with a new utility room on the ground floor and an extension to the master bedroom on the first floor. We’ve also got an en-suite to fit out as part of the project.

Scaffolding goes up tomorrow morning, and the plan is to get this up to joist height and have the existing external skin dropped by the end of the week.

THE NEXT BIG ONE…

We’re kicking off our next big project next week, and this one is going to be a beauty! 👌🏼

This has been bubbling away in the background for the last few years while planning was achieved. We finally got the opportunity to tender at the start of the year and, thankfully, were successful! 🙌🏼

We’ll be completely renovating the existing house, adding a large extension to the rear, a substantial retaining wall and a huge new terrace overlooking the fields. 🌳

There’s some really exciting features planned for this one, including an exposed oak truss and purlins in the main bedroom. 🤌🏼

The house will also get a serious upgrade behind the scenes with:

🔨 UFH to both floors
❄️ Air conditioning
♨️ Air Source Heat Pump
🏠 Complete insulation upgrade to the existing house
📈 Improved U-values throughout

There’s a lot to get stuck into, but we’re really looking forward to getting started and working with the clients to bring their vision to life.

The exterior is a combination of black Hardie® Plank cladding and stone slips, and the contrast between the two is going to give this tired old building a complete new lease of life.

This week we’re fitting the windows and doors, and once they’re in you’ll really start to see the finished vision come together.

Progress is flying at our holiday let conversion in Minety. 🔨

With all the first fix services complete and the plasterboarding finished, it’s now over to the lads at to work their magic and get everything skimmed out.

The client has been giving me a sneak peek of her plans for the finished interiors, and I have to say, she’s got an incredible eye for design. It’s going to completely transform these spaces.

We can’t wait to show you the finished result, but for now, here’s another step closer. 👌

From the biggest high of our lives to straight back to reality… 💍☀️➡️🔨

After getting married in Ibiza surrounded by our friends and family, it’s definitely been a struggle getting back into the swing of things. But we’ve rolled our sleeves up and got stuck straight into this renovation.

This old storage building is being transformed into two holiday lets, and the progress has been unreal! 🙌

So far we’ve:
🏗️ Formed new openings & blocked up the old ones
🪣 Levelled the floor with 60 bags of self-levelling compound
❄️ Insulated the floor & ceiling along with new timber joists
🪚 Built the stud walls and started the insulation

This week we’re onto first fix before closing the walls up, ready for plastering. It’s finally starting to feel like a proper building rather than a shell, and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.

Due to securing some great projects and with plenty more work in the pipeline, we’re looking for a full-time labourer to join our team.

We’re looking for someone who is:
✅ Reliable and able to work a full week
✅ Hardworking and keen to learn general building skills
✅ Respectful, polite, and professional
✅ Clean and tidy – we work in people’s homes, so presentation matters

Preferred but not essential:🔹 Construction industry experience and a good understanding of the basics

Essential:🚐 Full driving licence – you must be able to be insured on our vans, as there may be times you’ll need to travel to jobs independently or collect materials.

If you’re looking for a long-term opportunity with a growing team and want to learn and develop your skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Big progress happening 👌

A new opening has now been formed at the rear of the property ready for the stunning set of bifold doors 🔨✨

The existing walls have been prepped, the HR boys have wrapped up the plastering, and the Max Lynn team have smashed through the kitchen & utility installation — now onto hanging the doors 🚪

We’re on track to have this project completed by the middle of next week, and the clients are absolutely buzzing with how it’s coming together 🙌
