Gardens don't have to be boring in January. Whilst the vibrant summer borders are quiet, Sarcococca (Christmas Box) is doing the heavy lifting; filling the air with a sweet, honey-like scent.

A well-designed garden should draw you outside with the temptation of something to visit even on the crispest winter morning.

Our designers and horticulturists always try to include winter scent in a client's garden, where space allows.

Some of our other favourite winter scents include Daphne, Viburnum, Hamamelis (Witch hazel), and Chimonanthus (Japanese allspice).

What's providing your garden scent in January?

St Richard's Hospice; We're delighted to be taking part in this year's Christmas Tree Collection weekend to raise funds for St Richards Hospice

Earlier this year, our Horticulturist and Design Expert, Hilary .hilary was invited to give a talk to St Richard's Mens Therapy group, which provided us with key insights into the amazing work St Richard's and their team do.

St Richard's is an independent Worcestershire-based charity providing free, expert care and support for adults with incurable illnesses (like cancer, heart failure, neurological conditions) and their families. We are thrilled to think we will be playing a tiny part in helping this organisation provide the services they do for our local community.

Hello! We're still here! You might have noticed our feed has been a little quieter than usual lately, and there’s a great reason for that: we are currently immersed in creating exceptional, bespoke spaces for our clients.

As a family-run business dedicated to the craft of landscape design and construction, our priority is always the intricate detail of the project, not the speed of our social media updates. We are proudly traditionally minded, meaning our focus remains squarely on delivering the meticulous, time-honoured quality that Envisage Gardens is known for.

Producing "good" social media content is hard work! We have to prioritise our energy as we currently have large-scale design projects on the drawing board, and we're in various construction phases of several ongoing builds. So our focus is on working for our clients, not for the algorithm. 🌳

We promise to share sporadic updates and sneak peeks as our team remembers to capture them! But please know that behind the scenes, the pencils are sketching and the plants are being positioned with precision!

A quick note on availability: We are rapidly filling our books for bespoke design and build projects for Spring/Summer 2026. If you are planning a garden transformation, we encourage you to get in touch soon to discuss your vision and secure your slot in our schedule.

Help us stay visible!

Poppy photographed in our own field. Grown from love, not war.

"In Flanders fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields."

~ John Macrae. 1915.

We've had a brilliant first day exhibiting at The Listed Property Club October show. We've already spoken to lots of interesting people with interesting properties, so we're looking forward to what tomorrow brings!

Join us in wishing CEO Steve a warm October birthday! πŸ§‘πŸ‚ We don't know his real age because he keeps telling everyone he's still 21... which I think means we're living in 1981, and that's too confusing for a Monday!

October is definitely Steve's season. He enjoyed a bumper crop of apples from his Orchard of over 60 different fruit tree varieties so now he's starting to think about pruning trees and ordering daffodil bulbs to be planted between the rows.

This month will see him still out on site, although we have tried chaining him to a desk in the office. He'll be off doing some of his favourite things like digger driving, exercising his carpentry skills on a green oak pergola, and working out some tricky maths on complex sloping sites.

At the weekend he'll go for a bounce on the trampoline with his granddaughters, or maybe take them for a ride on the tractor.

Thank you for all you do, Steve. We would be lost without you 🫢🏼

Wouldn't you love to go for a dip in here today? This hot weather reminds us of how many swimming pools we've worked with over the years!

Here's a recently completed family garden designed as a social circulation space where the (older) children can clearly be seen from the main living area of the house.

This pool is an resistance pool with current generator, heated by a heat pump neatly tucked out of sight, and an easy-lift sucken pool cover chamber designed by Steve to look like a deck (just seen to the right)

Check out that barn conversion, too. Isn't it stunning?

Wow, I could have done with a dip in this pool this week! (Although it's only a few inches deep!)

We visited this recently completed project this week to discuss phase 2, another garden on the property, so you'll probably be seeing a bit more of this one as it develops throughout the year!

We're delighted to share these initial teaser images for a design we've completed in North Worcestershire.

These CGI (Computer Generated Image) images of the design show just one area of their 1000 square metre project, covering just part of the total acreage surrounding this absolutely stunning 16th century farmhouse.

We have submitted 36 images of the 3D model (CGI) to the client for their approval.

CGI is a powerful tool to help our collective understanding of the proposed design as it can be seen in 3D and not just on a flat plan. We include CGI as standard in our normal landscape design contracts.

Next steps are for the client to send us any amendments they feel may be needed, and then we can work towards costing an implementation documentation. Exciting times ahead!
