Front side slated in. Just need the top course on & the bonding gutter slated in on the backs on next doors side.

Window installed on the back side of the roof as the customer wanted it installed today.

Bonding gutter installed splitting the two roofs apart & slated back in & some more slate laid on the front. Fronts now just about complete.

Good bit of progress made today.
One of the windows in, all the felt support trays in, some of the gable end ran up. Get this side just about finished tomorrow then into the backs.

That’s the back stripped off, old rotten rafter pulled out & replaced & back filled with cement.

Old window taken out & the frame made bigger for the new window.
Just about all latted up apart from the top few courses as we need to build up the gable end on the back side.
Then we can get the new windows in & get some slate nocked down.

One side of the gable end build back up after removing the chimney. a small pillar for the lintel to sit on. Little installed under the main ridge beam & the ridge extended over to the gable end.

The front is all felted & latted up ready to go.
Same again on the back tomorrow.

Old chimney stack taken down from the gable end & seen this roof has been just about floating. Was sat on 1 inch of brick that fell off. 😵
We need to block up the gable end, build a pillar & canter leaver a lintel from the gabled end to sit under the ridge beam, giving it the support it so desperately needs.

Old rotten spar from the gable end taken out & replaced with a new treated 3x2 timber Screwed to the perlin & back filled with cement to keep it in place.

Old windows taken out & the frame adjusted to fit the new window.

Started to batton it up & the haven’t opened up. So we have tarped it for the night.

Well that’s this one wrapped up now.

Old slates carefully removed. Old felt & laths taken off & skipped.

New breathable membrane installed with 2x1 treated laths.

Reslated, Chimney stacks have new code 5 aprons & code 4 soakers, code 4 front flashings.
A new dry ridge system. & some nice slate detail in the roof for a very valued customer of ours.
