Couple of commissions pices out in the garden for a light sand before the final coat. Table made from two science desks from neatherhall school. Chest of drawers made from a science desk and some gym floor from the same school.

Replacement newl posts going in on this staircase renovation. No clad over for me, full mortise and tenon joints on solid oak posts. Served my time under a true craftsman and I’m still doing thing the way I was taught.

Well it’s been another productive year for Curwen Joinery, bringing first class carpentry and joinery to the people and businesses of West Cumbria.
I would like to say a big thank you to all that chose Curwen Joinery to do their work.👍 I would also like to thank all the other tradesman of west Cumbria that I work alongside, fighting the same fight. So I managed to salvage some of the old gym floor from netherhall school in Maryport. Decided to use some to make picture frames for some prints I picked up from a recent bezzer exhibition in Bristol. They look ace, especially with the darts of paint where they have been marked out for netball courts and the like. Still have some left if anybody wants one. Can be made to any size to fit your artwork.

I would like to say thank you to my nephew Billy Robinson for his help this week on his work experience from school. Had a great week making and fitting this unit.
Shaker doors on soft close hinges, with mahogany counter top. Fully adjustable shelves on flush fitted shelf strips, all made with birch ply and pine mouldings / edge trims / coving. All edge and faces sanded to 120 grit, ready to paint.

Just pop back to make sure all is good with this bespoke hardwood door. This thing will still be doing it’s job long after I have hung up my hammer. Miles better than that plastic rubbish.
