This double dormer flat roof was leaking, and I anticipated from what the customer told me that either there would be no insulation within the roof or very little. There was also no means of ventilation in the roof either, which will cause damp and mould problems.
We stripped the old felt roof covering and as expected, found there to be no insulation within the roof.
New PIR insulation installed, cross battened for airflow, new firrings as the roof had very little fall. We extended the rafter ends to allow for a vented soffit.
All topped off with a brand new rubber (EPDM) membrane and a 20 year guarantee.
The whole process was overseen by building control as it falls within the scope of building regulations.
