August...... what a fabulous summer its been, its been a very long hot summer and some days its been a bit of a struggle in the heat, but we got through it 😎 a jammed packed September ahead and then some much needed time off in October 🥳🥳

20 years!!!! 😱😱😱 i know, we don't look old enough 🤣..... but 20 years of laughter, tears, ups and downs good and bad - heres to the next 20 ❤️❤️

The weather finally broke, its been a great week and much cooler...... we had our monthly visit with one of our regulars, but our furry friend thinks its our monthly visit having cuddles and playing fetch 🥰 we also had a regular visit at one of our favourite projects that were working on and have made gpod progress in getting it back to order - plus a few spiders, slow worms etc along the way ❤️ Happy Friday!! 😎😎

What a week weve had...... to start our week our Van shuddered and spluttered its way along the A27, managed to get it somewhere safe and called recovery - Simon was a gardener in distress waiting for recovery 🤣 was told recovery would be 1.5hrs but ended up being just short of 4 hours 🫩🫩

Van went to garage, still none the wiser what the issue was, but went to collect it Tuesday and it had a flat tyre 😱

But despite that and it being very hot, weve seen a good use of an old bike, a creative use of a hedge and some insects like an elephant hawk moth, a dragonfly and a cricket 😎😎

A busy Saturday to end our week 😎 this morning we used our new toy a Mac Allister Tiller Cultivator to take up this front lawn, then used some plum slate from Stone Warehouse to finish it off

Then this afternoon, we had a few hours clearing an overgrown back garden that had been a bit neglected, now cleared and further visits planned to maintain it and make some plans 😎😎

18 months...... 18 months since we both quit our full time jobs and took the leap into being self employed and what an 18 months it has been

What started off as an idea from Matt back in 2023, to drop a day at work, to go back to college and study Horticulture, we both qualifed in June 2024 (we had great fun)

To then in October 2024 Matt had a heart attack at home (turns out he has a rare blood condition which caused a blockage), several days in hospital and surgery and he was home (scariest time we have ever had) we were also doing gardening part time

February 2025, both feeling stressed, riddled with anxiety and wanting change, we gave up our jobs to give our business a go full time - weve never looked back

Whilst being self employed has its own challenges like trying to get your ahead around accounts, pushing yourself out your comfort zone and never really switching off from work its been an adventure and we are LOVING it.... meeting some fascinating new people, working in some amazing gardens and learning each day - we have lots of plans for 2027 (a big charity event we are looking to do in Feb and potentially taking on someone to help us out)

One thing we have learnt is life is too short, so do something you are passionate about and enjoy!! ❤️

One of our jobs today was to give this overgrown veg area of a garden a tidy up, still plenty to do but we made a good start - also a good excuse to see adorable Lenny the cat who for an old girl at 15 still likes a fuss 🥰❤️
