It’s easy to look at two or three quotes and think the cheapest one is the best deal. But with exterior decorating, what’s included in the quote can make a huge difference.

A fresh finish for this Worthing home 🏡✨

Another external decorating project completed in Worthing, giving this home a fresh, clean finish and bringing the exterior back to life.

For me, exterior decorating isn’t just about putting paint on the walls. The preparation is what makes the difference.

Have you got a room that’s been affected by damp or previous water damage? I’d be happy to discuss the best way to restore it.

Water-Damaged Bedroom Restored | Professional Decorating

This bedroom had previously suffered from water ingress, which resulted in extensive cracking, staining and damaged plaster.

The exterior had been repaired and re-rendered around a year earlier, allowing the internal decoration to be completed with confidence once everything had fully dried.

Preparation was the key to achieving a long-lasting finish.

For this project I carried out:

✔ Removed all loose and unstable material
✔ Thoroughly sanded the affected areas
✔ Applied 2 coats of Zinsser Peel Stop to stabilise the surface
✔ Filled and sanded for a smooth finish
✔ Mist coated the repaired areas
✔ Applied 2 coats of Zinsser B-I-N to permanently seal any remaining stains
✔ Touched in the existing colour before applying 2 full finishing coats
✔ Fully redecorated the remainder of the room

The result is a clean, fresh bedroom with no visible signs of the previous damage.

This bedroom had suffered from previous water ingress, leaving cracked plaster, staining and damaged walls.

Thankfully the external repairs had already been completed, so it was finally time to restore the inside.

This wasn’t simply a case of painting over the problem. Proper preparation was essential to ensure the finish would last.

The process included:

🔹 Scraping away all loose material
🔹 Sanding the damaged areas
🔹 2 coats of Zinsser Peel Stop
🔹 Filling and sanding
🔹 Mist coating the repairs
🔹 2 coats of Zinsser B-I-N to seal the stains
🔹 Touching in the repaired areas
🔹 2 full coats across the room
🔹 Decorating the rest of the bedroom to match

The difference between the before and after photos shows why preparation is so important. Taking the time to do the job properly gives a finish that’s built to last—not just something that looks good for a few weeks.

Another project completed for one of my regular commercial clients – Project Spartan in Worthing. 💪

It’s always a pleasure to return to businesses that trust me to keep their premises looking their best, especially when it’s a gym I regularly use myself.

This visit included refreshing the changing room areas using Dulux Diamond Matt in Frosted Steel – a durable, scrubbable finish that’s ideal for high-traffic commercial environments. I also carried out touch-ups throughout the main gym using Johnstone’s Durable Matt (RAL 9005) to keep everything looking clean, sharp and well maintained.
