Works are progressing well at Plas Gororau Phase 2, with a major refurbishment being delivered within a live NHS building while maintaining access for building users.

Internal and external upgrades are taking shape, including new partitions, ceilings, windows, fire compartmentation improvements, and the full renewal of M&E services. Plastering is advancing throughout the building, first-fix M&E works continue on the ground floor, and first-floor ceiling installations are nearing completion.

With replacement windows due to be installed shortly, the project is continuing to build momentum and take shape. We look forward to sharing further updates as works progress.

We have recently started on site at Ysgol I D Hooson, Rhosllanerchrugog, delivering a significant extension and refurbishment project that will enhance teaching, learning and community facilities for pupils, staff and the wider school community. The development includes the construction of an eight-classroom extension, internal alterations to create a new studio hall, the relocation of childcare provision from temporary accommodation, improvements to parking provision and associated external works.

The project, match funded by the Welsh Government through its Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme, is designed to support the long-term needs of the school. The project will provide modern, flexible learning environments while creating permanent facilities for spaces currently accommodated within temporary classrooms. The scheme will also deliver sustainability improvements, including energy-efficient design measures and enhanced site infrastructure.

We look forward to sharing progress as construction gets underway.

Construction progress continues at Artillery Point, Oswestry.

We're pleased to see strong progress on site, with the steel frames now complete for the new Costa Coffee drive-thru and Greggs units. Roofing works are also advancing well, while infrastructure works continue for the new BeEV eight-bay high-speed electric vehicle charging station, helping the development take shape as a modern roadside destination.

The project will create a vibrant new destination for local residents and visitors, bringing additional retail and food outlets to the area while supporting investment in Oswestry.

With works progressing in line with programme, we look forward to reaching further milestones in the coming months.

A fantastic milestone for everyone involved in the transformation of Brio Northgate.

It was great to join Brio Leisure, Cheshire West and Chester Council, local representatives and project partners to celebrate the official reopening of this fantastic community facility.

The redevelopment has created a modern, accessible leisure destination that will serve residents and visitors for years to come, while also honouring the legacy of former Brio Chair David Woods through the naming of the new community room.

Thank you to Brio Leisure and Cheshire West and Chester Council for the opportunity to deliver this project.

👷‍♂️ Work Experience at Dawley Leisure Centre

This week, we’re pleased to welcome Asamoah to our Dawley Leisure Centre project for a work experience placement with Read Construction.

Asamoah is currently studying at and is spending the week shadowing our site team, gaining first-hand experience of a live construction environment and putting some of his learning into practice.

Throughout the placement, he’ll gain an insight into the day-to-day management of a construction project, site operations and the different roles involved in delivering a project safely and successfully.

A big thank you to Eilian Jones and Wesley Skillicorn for supporting Asamoah throughout his placement and sharing their knowledge and experience.

We hope you’re enjoying the week, Asamoah! 🏗️
