All in a day's work 🙌

This fuse board in Sturminster Newton was messy and not fire-proof so the client wanted it upgraded and made safer for the tenants living in the property.

❓Did you know your smoke alarms have an expiry date❓

Domestic smoke alarms have a shelf life of 10 years, after this time they start to get clogged up with dust, dirt and pollution and no longer detect smoke effectively.

If your smoke alarms haven't been changed for a while, give your electrician a call and get them checked out!

We finally had a dry day yesterday so took full advantage of the weather and spent the afternoon changing up this garage connection outside in the sunshine ☀️

When we visited back in the autumn, we discovered the garage cable hadn't been safely secured so was dangerously dangling down and the cable used was not safe for outdoor use 🫣

The client was in no rush so asked us to come back when the sun was out, who'd have thought we'd have quite so much rain since then and this was our first truly dry day to get back over and sort it out.

Let's hope the sun makes a more regular appearance so we can get moving with all those outdoor projects 🌳

We had a call out to Yeovil as this conservatory was being pulled down and rebuilt so the electrics needed to be removed and reinstated (with some improvements added too).

All cables were hidden within white conduit so you can barely even see they're there.

Making this fuseboard safe ✅️

When we got the call out to take a look at this fuseboard at a storage warehouse in Bishops Caundle, we were a little shocked by what we found.

❌️ Exposed cables rammed into the top of the fuseboard which sparked intermittently or when touched 💥

❌️ No glands installed on any of the cables

❌️ A complete mess inside

❌️ Connections not secure within the board

❌️ Top of the fuseboard not sealed so allowed access for water, rodents or even potentially someone's finger!

Thankfully we got the call to take a look before anyone got too much of a nasty shock.

Please make sure you're always using a qualified and approved electrician for your electrical work.

We love a transformation picture- swipe to see this living room flip from a tired drab room into a slick modern living room.

This house hadn't really been updated since it was built in the 1950s/60s so needed a full rewire to bring it forward into the modern day.

Plenty of new easy to access sockets (instead of just the one socket it originally had), a new electric fireplace, fresh LED downlights and a pair of decorative wall lights either side of the TV point.

Think it's safe to say this one was a vast improvement!

As we step into 2026 we're looking back at what will forever be one of our favourite transformations!

Seeing this house in Holwell come together after this stunning extension and rewire, was a pleasure to witness and be a part of this house's journey.
