Investing in the Next Generation 🎨

At Jones Building Group, we believe the future of our industry starts with investing in the next generation.

We’re delighted to welcome Dexter Yeo to our Painting & Decorating division as our latest apprentice, joining the Class of 2026.

Over the next two years, Dexter will work alongside one of our experienced decorators, developing his practical skills on site while studying Painting & Decorative Finishes at Plymouth City College.
Apprenticeships are a key part of our commitment to developing the skills and talent we need for the future. By combining formal education with hands-on experience, we can give the next generation a strong foundation on which to build a successful career in the construction industry.

We’re also extremely grateful for the long-term stability provided by our framework partners and clients. The consistency and forward workload these partnerships provide gives us the confidence to continue investing in our people and, importantly, allows us to maintain and grow our apprenticeship recruitment programme.
We’re proud to continue creating opportunities for young people to learn, develop and progress within Jones Building Group, while helping to address the skills gap across our industry.

Welcome to the team, Dexter. We’re looking forward to supporting you throughout your apprenticeship and watching you develop into the next generation of skilled Jones decorators.

Throwback to another safe and successful specialist coatings project by our Painting Business Unit! 🏗️🎨

Our national specialist coatings team recently completed works at the SWAST Ambulance Centre in Dorset, delivering the project in line with a Giromax specification.

Our fully trained specialist coatings team treated Stage 3 roof corrosion before applying the complete Giromax ® Technology system, ensuring the roof was properly prepared, treated and protected for a further 25 years.

Another great example of the specialist skills, training and attention to detail our teams bring to every project — helping our clients protect their assets and extend the life of their buildings.

🌱 A project we’re incredibly proud to have supported! ♻️

Working alongside St. Margaret's CEVA Primary School Tintinhull, our team helped bring an innovative bottle greenhouse to life, transforming recycled plastic bottles into a fantastic outdoor learning space.

This project highlights the importance of sustainability, teamwork, and giving back to our local community. Seeing the pupils, staff and wider school community come together to make this vision a reality has been incredibly rewarding.

A huge thank you to everyone at St. Margaret’s CEVA Primary School for collecting the bottles and embracing the project from start to finish. Your enthusiasm and commitment made this possible.

We’re proud to support initiatives that inspire future generations while creating lasting benefits for our community. Supporting local schools, promoting sustainability, and helping future generations understand the importance of environmental responsibility are values we care deeply about.

We love seeing the finished greenhouse in place and making a real difference. 🌿

Harry had the honour of presenting the Jones Building Group Yeovil Institute of Sport Team of the Year and Sports Person of the Year awards at the recent Shining Stars Awards evening for Yeovil College.

The event was a fantastic celebration of students' achievements over the past academic year, recognising their dedication, hard work, and success both on and off the field.

Congratulations to all the winners on their outstanding accomplishments and thank you to everyone involved in making it such a memorable evening.

👏 Celebrating our Cornwall Painting & Decorating apprentice, Tommy, who has been named Learner of the Year 2026.
From regional winner to BTX Learner champion 🥇 Tommy won the BTX Painting & Decorating Regional Competition earlier this year before going on to triumph at the national finals — an incredible achievement!

Congratulations on winning both the BTX Painting & Decorating Regional Competition and the National Title, Tommy. Everyone at Jones is incredibly proud of you ⭐

A big thank you as well to our framework partners and customers across Cornwall who have supported Tommy throughout his journey and contributed to this fantastic achievement.

Our Yeovil head office has recently collaborated with multiple housing providers to deliver a successful kerbside collection initiative at the Wyndham Park Estate in Yeovil.
Following consultation with our framework partners who manage homes within the estate, we identified an opportunity to enhance the local environment and support residents through a practical, community-focused initiative.
We were delighted to host a community “Dump Day” as part of our ongoing Social Value commitment on a current Jones Building Group project.
The day provided residents with a safe and responsible way to dispose of unwanted household waste, helping to improve the appearance of the area while bringing the community together. It was great to see so many residents getting involved — whether stopping by for a chat or lending a helping hand.
A special mention goes to our operative, Ozzy, who went above and beyond on the day — supporting residents and ensuring the area was left clean and tidy. Your hard work and positive attitude made a real difference.
