Well, show day tomorrow...
Hes a sneek prieview of 2 of the 5 pieces of furniture we have made to take with us, working til the 11th hour to make sure we get everything as close to perfect as we can.

I have the BEST team around me who are gifted in their disciplines of woodwork. Makes me immensely proud to see what we can collectively achieve.

Another really nice restoration job recently on a much loved front door for a great client in Langport
Why replace it when you can fix it!

This one involved dismantling the whole piece, replacing sections of rotten timber, re cutting mortice and tenons

Finished off with a spray coat of aluminium based primer and spray 3 top coats.

Most of the time I'm asked to make a replica of an existing piece of joinery or furniture.
A couple of weeks ago I was asked if there was anything I could do to save a much loved front door that has seen some 40+ years of service to the same family.

We undertook a full restoration, completely stripping the door back and dismantling it, cleaning and treating every component. We had to dovetail in various new sections where necessary but overall we saved well over 90% of the original door.

While on site we were told that the original door was made by the gentleman who lived in the house next door 40+ years ago when this house was his workshop.

It's jobs like this that make me remember why I do what I do for a living 💙

Thank you Ina and Alan for entrusting and charging me with this task. We have loved every second of it

12 years ago (to the month) I started my career as an apprentice furniture maker with a small company in Martock. I was extraordinarily lucky enough to learn my craft from 3 of the finest furniture makers in the country (in my humble opinion)

I recently visited the showroom I spent hundreds of hours in as a 16 year old, french polishing and organising, dreaming of the day I would be able to have my own company and take an apprentice.

This week i reached a very humbling milestone. I started the process of offering an apprenticeship to a young person as keen and eager as I was. I feel incredibly humbled by this picture, this dresser was the first piece of furniture I made as an apprentice. 12 years later, I'm taking an apprentice of my own to train and encourage In this industry.
