We’re now onto the installation of what is going to be a fantastic new bathroom! 👀

After stripping everything right back and dealing with the unexpected issues we uncovered along the way, it’s great to finally see this space starting to come together.

There’s still plenty to do, but the transformation is well underway and we cannot wait to show you the finished result! 🔨🔥

This project has certainly thrown a few surprises at us, but that’s what we’re here for finding the solution and getting the job done properly.

Kitchen Refit Turns Into a Damp Nightmare 😳🏚️

What started as a straightforward kitchen and bathroom refit quickly turned into something much bigger when we uncovered a serious damp problem throughout the property.

But at MBC, we don’t walk away when a job gets difficult. 💪

This project started with a complete strip-out and a blank canvas. From there we:

✔️ Installed large-format feature tiles
✔️ Fitted a new quadrant shower enclosure and rainfall shower
✔️ Installed a new WC and basin
✔️ Laid stunning stone-effect floor tiles throughout
✔️ Finished with warm Venetian-style plaster walls for a unique, seamless look

🏡 WOW... WHAT A WEEK! 🏡

Construction doesn't always go to plan, and this week was a perfect reminder of that.

We started work on a beautiful Victorian property in York, preparing for what was due to be a stunning new bathroom renovation. During the strip-out, however, we uncovered something no homeowner ever wants to see...

Unfortunately, sections of the roof structure had been severely damaged by wood-boring insects over many years. While it's never the news anyone wants to hear, discovering issues like this before the renovation begins is far better than covering them up and facing much bigger problems in the future.

Although roofing isn't our trade, looking after our customers is. We've recommended a number of trusted roofing specialists in York and are keeping everything crossed that the repairs are less extensive than first feared.

This is one of the reasons we love what we do. Every property has its own story, and sometimes our job is just as much about finding the right solution as it is about carrying out the work itself.

Next week we're over in South Bank, York, starting another exciting project, and we can't wait to share the progress with you.

🚧 Busy Week... It's All Systems Go at MBC HQ! 🚧

It's been a busy one already, and we're back doing what we do best.

One of our projects has hit a rather unusual delay this week... 🐝

A quick word of advice: if you think there might be a wasps' nest behind a boxing or stud wall... don't bang on it to find out! Safe to say the wasps weren't too impressed! 😂

Thankfully, the professionals are on the case, and we'll be back on site as soon as it's safe.

In the meantime, we're putting the finishing touches to another fantastic project that we can't wait to reveal. Trust us... this one's worth the wait. 👀

It's been a frustrating week here at Miles Better Construction, with illness sweeping through the team and causing a few delays across our projects.

The good news? Everyone is back on their feet, fully fit, and ready for a big week ahead! 🔨🏠

🚧 PHASE 1 COMPLETE 🚧

We're pleased to share the first completed bathroom from a larger renovation project we're currently delivering on behalf of Bathology.

This elegant bathroom combines classic and contemporary styling, featuring a stunning freestanding bath, traditional fittings, metro wall tiling, wood-effect flooring and bespoke finishing details throughout.

This is just Phase 1 of the project, with two further bathrooms in the same property due for completion soon. We can't wait to reveal the next stages and showcase the finished transformation.

We are looking for an Apprentice to join the team at MBC York. Initially, the role will start as a Labourer, with the opportunity to progress into a full Apprenticeship after a successful trial period.
