As a keen water fan I spend most of my time on a jet ski fishing or running around after the daughter who competes in ski racing.
Georgia races under the number 172 , 17 th Feb which is her and her late grandfathers birthday.

Some repairs done today , re glazing , locks , hinges, loads of concealed restrictors , handles and a vandalised damaged bay window with a hole in it!!

Long day but amazing results with the 2 of us flat out from 8 till 5!!

Lots of window hinges today, plus a few locking mechanisms , If you have a PVC window that’s sagging, not closing properly, catching on the frame, or has a loose/broken hinge, the repair is usually straightforward. The hinges on most uPVC casement windows are called friction stay hinges.

Common signs the hinges need repair or replacement:

* Window drops when opened
* Top corner catches the frame
* Drafts around the sash
* Window won’t seal tightly
* Grinding or stiff movement
* Hinge arms visibly bent or rusted

Typical Window Doctor repair options:

1. Adjust the hinges
Sometimes the issue is alignment rather than a broken hinge. On many uPVC windows you can:

* Tighten hinge screws
* Adjust the keeps/locking points
* Re-square the sash using glazing packers

2. Replace the friction stay hinges.
