Another one ticked off just in time for the bank holiday weekend. We were asked to rip out this dated bath and tiles and install a new modern bath and tiles. So what did we do?
Day 1.
I got there and it became apparent instantly that the tiles were going to drop off rather than require brute force (happy days)
Once all the tiles were off and the old adhesive scrapped off I removed the bath & panel, the screen, the old shower head and installed a new Carron 1700 bath.
Later that afternoon Ben BH Tiling York came over and did the wall tiling ready for second fixing.

Day 2.
Piped up the bath, installed the bath panel and fitted the new bath screen.

Day 3.
Chris over at CJ Sealants came over to Easinwold and siliconed the bath and panel to give it a finished watertight look. I called back and installed a riser rail for the customer.

All finished and handed over to the customer.

Another full bathroom renovation completed in York ✔️

This project was taken right back to brick before being completely rebuilt from the ground up. We carried out all first fix pipework, dot and dabbed new plasterboard throughout, then fully plastered the room ready for installation.

The bathroom was finished with:
• New bath and bath screen
• Modern concealed shower valve and shower set
• Full wall tiling and floor tiling
• New toilet and vanity area
• Heated towel radiator
• Professionally finished silicone work throughout for a clean, watertight finish and a new door installed.

A complete transformation finished to a high standard with a clean modern look.

Yes — today, Friday 8 May 2026, is the 81st anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, commonly called VE Day.

VE Day marks N**i Germany’s formal surrender to the Allies in 1945, ending World War II in Europe. In the UK it’s commemorated each year on 8 May.

For some reason we celebrate this less and less but we will never forget!

Cheeky little bathroom upgrade time. This customer had to stop using their shower as the shower tray had become unstable and was causing water ingress issues.
So what did we do? We took out the old screen, we took out the bottom row of tiles and installed a new Mira 1400 x 900 shower tray. We then installed a new border row of tiles (thanks to BH Tiling York) and a new 8mm easy clean glass screen with flapper panel. It was then professionally siliconed by CJ Sealants

Did you know that at Doherty Plumbing we don’t just supply and install bathrooms — we also install kitchens.

On this recent project we worked alongside Kevin, our joiner, to carry out structural floor improvements including installing new floor joists and new chipboard flooring. The existing floor covering was then carefully relaid before moving on to the kitchen installation.

The kitchen itself was designed and supplied by Howdens and professionally installed to a high standard. We also installed new pipework behind the units to ensure long-term reliability and ease of future maintenance.

Additional works included fitting a new outside tap fully compliant with water regulations, complete with isolation and check valves, along with new solvent-weld waste pipework (white internally and black externally).

To finish the space, a stylish island was installed — creating the perfect spot for breakfast or entertaining guests.
