Thanks to Mark, Solinear's highly experienced and well-respected , we're beginning a new day, new week and new month by revisiting an old project...

Completed at the end of the 1980s, the on is a prime example of : Designed by & Partners, it features a sleek, glass-dominated façade reflecting the contemporary style of the late 20th century.

Ahead of its time, the building was designed with a focus on , incorporating advanced technologies for its era, such as and integrated blinds that helped to control the internal temperature and .

In 2024, would crown this with a spectacular, bespoke system finished in a vibrant metallic blue, befitting of the building's style and reflecting its surroundings thus creating a striking new feature of the .

On a recent river cruise, Mark managed to capture these great photos of the building to share with you all.

Have a great but please stay as It's going to be a hot one!

The bank holiday weekend is set to bring an exceptional spell of warmth, with forecasts predicting a notable across much of the .

Temperatures have been rising since Thursday, with highs potentially reaching 33°C in parts of and the by Monday - surpassing the current record of 32.8°C.

Of course, will be playing its part during the - whether through helping to keep buildings cooler, protecting vital cooling equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation, or reducing noise from plant and HVAC systems.

So, if you’re out and about this weekend, there’s a chance you could be benefitting from a Solinear system and not even realise it!

The all-time May record currently stands at 32.8°C (Camden Square on 22 May 1922; and then Horsham, Tunbridge Wells and Regent’s Park on 29 May 1944).

The most recent occurrence of temperatures reaching at least 30°C in May dates back to May 2012, when the threshold was met on 25 May. Prior to that, there were similarly high temperatures reported on 23 May 2010 and 27 May 2005, demonstrating that while uncommon, summer-like heat in May is not unprecedented in the UK climate.

Looking further back into historical records, occurrences of 30°C or above in May are scattered and infrequent. This dataset (back to 1900) shows only a handful of years in which the 30°C mark was reached during May.

Among the earliest instances in the observational record are 29 May 1944, 12 May 1945, 29 May 1947 and 25 May 1953.
