Local JOB Opportunities

FAW Engineering are looking for an experienced mechanical fitter to join our rapidly expanding maintenance team, who are responsible for carrying out planned, predictive and reactive mechanical maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency of all machinery and plant requirements are met. Involvement in all mechanical activities on a day-to-day basis, current projects, and future projects.

Key activities and Responsibilities
· Perform planned, predictive, and reactive mechanical maintenance in a timely manner, whilst adhering to safe working procedures
· Attending breakdowns, fault finding and conducting rectifications of faults
· Perform preventative maintenance inspection (PM), diagnose, repair, rebuild and replace major equipment/components including various workshop machinery,conveyors, gearboxes, plant equipment, pulleys, shafts, bearing, belts, chains etc.
· Perform Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) and greasing schedules
· Involvement in the testing, improvement and maintenance of manufacturing processes and infrastructure
· Support the implementation of a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) of all repairs, servicing, and modifications to equipment
· Work towards a zero-breakdown and zero-stop mentality
· Assist with all other site services requirements as they arise
· Undertake other duties as reasonably requested

Skills & Knowledge
· FAW Engineering are looking for Apprentice trained or relevant mechanical engineering qualifications, with the ability to demonstrate suitable experience in a similar role with minimum 5 years experience.
· Ability to work unsupervised when tasked to do so, and to organise the work of others, where relevant, in response to the site needs
•Must be able to carry works at height in certain instances.
· Proven ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities, whilst working to high standards and time constraints
· Positive and proactive problem solver
· Perform all duties in compliance with Heath, Safey and hygiene standards
· Ability work in varying temperatures and weather, including working outside, in production areas and on-site workshop
· Able to work in a team environment, with good communication skills both verbal and written
· Ability to work interact at all levels within an organisation
· Ability to be on call out of hours on a rota system

Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary relevant to work experience given.
28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
Pension Scheme
Generous schemes available after one year’s service, van etc.
Appropriate PPE and workwear are provided
All relevant training provided
Note: 35 hour working week Mon – Fri plus scope for more overtime throughout if required.
Expectation to join call out system once fully competent in role.

FAW Engineering Limited at looking to expand there current team and are looking for a qualified Mechanical Fitter.

Key Responsibilities and tasks would be:

* Carry out fitting duties on various types of mechanical equipment.
* Inspection and Service of all mechanical equipment for any damage and evidence of wear and tear.
* Dismantle, reassemble and test gearboxes, motors and associated equipment.
* Complete and record paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
* Working at Height involved.

Job Type: Full time

Salary: From minimum Monday-Friday £25,500.00 per year Plus overtime and weekend work available.

Experience:
* Minimum 5 years
* Driving licence would be beneficial
