Beautiful day undertaking the dismantle of a Beech - unfortunately at high risk of failure due to a severe soft rot/decay at the base.

We are very proud to continually work as the chosen contractors at Yorks iconic Castle Museum. A few before/after pictures following recent pruning works. The works have tidied up the seating area, and opened up the veiw towards the Southern side of the historic building and watermill.

We’re always very keen to meet all of our customers needs - in this case the request was simply “something to sit on”, following the dismantle of a Cherry tree.
The two trunks are adjoined at the base and lean in opposing directions. This gave us an idea for carving a social “twin seat” for the couples garden which they we’re really pleased with!

We have full time and part time vacancies for trainee grounds persons.

Experience with a chainsaw in forestry/arboriculture or similar essential.

NPTC Units 201/202 (Formally known as CS30/31) are required. Applicants currently working towards the above units will still be considered.

Duties would include chipping, logging, hedgecutting,

Tasks will also involve the safe rigging /lowering of timber and branches from tree canopies.

Climbing, felling and pruning training will also be available for the right candidates.

The work is physically demanding so a reasonable level of fitness is required.

Todays crown reduction works on a large Yew tree in the gardens. Sections of the canopy which encroached on the York Observatory and path beneath pruned and reduced. The remaining canopy then slightly reduced to allow a little more light/space for adjacent trees and plants to thrive.
