So many of you will be familiar with this wall. Or as my mates would say “the cow s**t wall” 😂. And it did stop the soot from bleeding through the wall ! Painted it on but also added it into my mix . First of all I raked out the wall , sandblasted and repointed in “Cheshire” lime mortar . The soldier bricks above the fire place were deteriorated so I also lime plastered that as well used a 3 coat system . Also using a 3 coat system on the Alcove . And finishing off with an “off white” lime wash for the Alcove and above the fire place . Bringing this wall back to its naturally beauty and looking rustic and most importantly breathable . Internal wall and a “little nib” stone wall raked out and repointed in blaenavon lime mortar . Customer didn’t want it cleaned to keep its character

Brickwork chimney breast brought back to life . Brick replacements re laid on the right hand pillar in 50/50 lime putty and nhl 3.5 giving it strength most importantly breathability ,also a new lintel inserted .
