on•entropy

on•entropy on • entropy is a marble atelier established in 2009 in Athens and London. NM is an architect with an academic training in design.

The studio's work ranges from product design to installations and interior design projects. Marble, an archetypal Greek material, takes on an unconventional role in on• entropy's designs; they encapsulate the contradiction of being heavy and compact and at the same time vulnerable, fragile and translucent. Its diverse character is the core of the atelier’s founding mission: to experiment with marb

le and its entropy; its transformation potential & inherent limitations. The result is the craftsmanship of intricate and delicate creations, evolving its diachronic qualities in an imaginative & contemporary way. Created and run by sisters Niki and Zoe Moskofoglou, on• entropy revolves around marble's resilience and diverse character. Her work demonstrates an architectural detailing and instinct of how space can surpass mere function while ZM is an environmental engineer focusing on the marriage of Cultural and Natural Heritage. NZM founded their design studio to reflect both art and craft. Pushing the boundaries of marble, they aim at settling it peacefully into itself. on• entropy works on the concept of marble, it’s about the artistry and the meticulous execution. The atelier reflects deeply the idea of entropy, with roots in the Greek ‘entropia’, which refers to ‘turning toward’ and transformation.

This summer, we expand on OPUNTIA, our prickly-pear-cactus-inspired collection of sculptural objects & lighting, exploring duality in material, form and resonance 🌵🎼
Historically, the sharp spines of the prickly pear cactus were used as gramophone needles, valued for producing a softer, warmer sound than steel — turning sharpness into softness
With the invitation Please Do Touch, the collection encourages a different experience of marble: rigid yet plastic, austere yet tactile, cold yet luminous, sharp yet soft.
OPUNTIA brings these dualities into form, light, sound and touch.

We are thrilled to present Opuntia, our collection of limited-edition sculptural objects & lights in a site-specific installation, at the majestic space of OLD CARPET FACTORY Old Carpet Factory in Hydra, a historic mansion that now operates as a music recording studio with some of the most rare instruments and eclectic sound production processes.

Co-presented with and in dialogue with the mansion’s history of sound and music, the installation explores material duality and endurance, reflecting the idea that making is an act of persistence and continuity.

Meet Green Pepe

We are thrilled to present our new sculptural — and first-ever portable — glowing marble lamp at Trattoria Altra Vista con Sala Giochi, a living installation created and curated by for 5VIE Milan Design District 2026 during at Le Cavallerizze Museum.

Here, we introduce Green Pepe, our new portable glowing table lamp from the Holy Luz collection. Inspired by the bioluminescence of Mycena chlorophos — a rare mushroom species found in subtropical Asia and Japan — the piece explores light as both presence and atmosphere.

Conceived in line with our motto, “design for the mind and the senses,” Green Pepe resonates with this year’s 5VIE theme, Qualia of Things: the subjective and qualitative aspects of conscious experience, or what it feels like to perceive something.
Within this context, Green Pepe reveals the inner luminosity and reflective depth of marble. By capturing and diffusing soft light, it invites a contemplative experience — one that moves beyond perception alone and encourages people to gather around it.
