Athanassios Kyratsous, born in Greece 1959, graduated from Faccolta Di Architectura (Universita Degli Studi Di Reggio, Calabria) and continued his post graduate studies in Faccolta Di Urbanistica of the same university. Obtaining an Italian scholarship, he extended his studies with a doctor degree in monuments’ restoration, (Instituto Di Restauro dei Monumenti di San Michele) in Rome where he open
ed at the same time his first architectural studio dealing mainly with preservation, configuration and restoration of historical sites such as the church Trinita dei Mondi, the Palazzo Madama, the Villa Medici, the Greco-Romano amphitheater in Caserta and many others. Despite a promising professional career in Italy, in 1989 he returned to Greece and founded AK & associate architects company, specialized in monuments, public and private buildings restoration. A year later he founded B.R.D (Building, Restoration, Decoration) company extending his activities in the commercial field, always in line with his profession. In 1993 he became the official representative for Greece and East Europe of Pico International, an international company based in Singapore which specializes in construction of trade exhibitions and corporate buildings. Deeply interested in urban development he founded in 1999 the Blue Mountain company that operates mainly in Kea, Kythnos and Paros islands undertaking all aspects of urban and residential development from spatial and environmental studies to final construction and commercialization. In 2001 he extended his activities also in the maritime field with Elkcomarin U.K (a subsidiary of the family’s shipping company Elkomarin Consultants) that deals with shipbuilding design and interior decoration of private cruisers and mega yachts. Singapore based Ferma S.A, a company specializing in furniture design, production and commercialization completed in 2003 the portfolio of his activities. Always active and eager to maintain AK & associate architects at the top Athanassios Kyratsous works incessantly following the guidelines of his life’s moto :
