A story of two rich histories and two inimitable spirits coming together in harmony.

松 (Pronounced ‘Sōng’ in Chinese): the iconic pine, the shared symbol of longevity and good fortune, the tree written in ancient folklore across both cultures, the enduring material found throughout our hotel.

邸 (Pronounced ‘Tei’ in Japanese): an elegant residence, a place of abundance, an invitation from a hotel that welcomes you home.

Together, a name that pays homage to Shangri‑La‘s origins and the refined character of Kyoto – Songtei.
