𝐒𝐋𝐃 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 | 𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐎𝐒, 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐳𝐡𝐨𝐮

Rooted in the Eastern philosophy of nature, ALTOS Hangzhou weaves the aesthetics of negative space and an intrinsic sense of order into contemporary living.

Moving from the grand riverside narrative to the poetic pause by the lake, the design shuns outward spectacle in favour of an honest return to the self, echoing the easy, unhurried rhythm of lakeside living.

𝐒𝐋𝐃 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 | 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚, 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐳𝐡𝐨𝐮

At Oriental Villa, Guangzhou, the design is guided by the idea of “Guangzhou memory, modern living.” Drawing on Lingnan architectural elements — from tanglong doors and oyster-shell houses to Chinese decorative lattice windows — it translates their cultural essence into materiality, light and spatial proportion, allowing tradition and contemporary living to coexist naturally.

Framed by expansive river views, imbued with the elegance of Lingnan, and shaped around the warmth of family life, the residence offers a refined yet effortless expression of contemporary living.

Last weekend, SLD hosted a lunch at Club C+ with Steve’s longtime friends and fellow designers Kelly Hoppen and Joe Cheng, together with the CCD team.
Surrounded by Eastern charm and contemporary elegance, old friends talked about design, lifestyle and aesthetics, sharing ideas and inspiration in a warm and memorable exchange. We have always believed that while our design languages may differ, we share the same purpose: creating spaces where people can feel truly at ease.
Heartfelt thanks to Kelly and Joe for joining us, and to everyone who shared this special moment. Beautiful design, exquisite food and genuine conversation made it an afternoon to remember. We look forward to more cross-cultural dialogues and to exploring new possibilities in design together.

𝐒𝐋𝐃 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 | 𝐈𝐅𝐒 𝐒𝐊𝐘 𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀, 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐮

Perched on the 24th floor of Chengdu’s landmark IFS, this private residence draws from the flowing clouds of Bashu landscapes and the textured richness of Shu brocade, creating a warm, comfort-first home at the heart of the city.

“Bringing Bashu’s landscapes and the Jinjiang River’s fluid charm into the space, the design blends lofty urban views and modern minimalism into poetic daily life — calm within the bustle, Shu elegance in a luxurious home.”
— Jia Li, Design Director, SLD

“Future furnishing design will move beyond single-function pieces and conventional aesthetics, focusing instead on residents’ inner experience and emotional well-being. Just a window away: beyond it, the endless bustle of the C*D; within it, a purely relaxed sanctuary for the soul.”
— Wing Huang, Design Director, SLL
