CANOPY FOR PLAY

What began as a simple wooden structure is now finding its life through everyday use. Children move freely around it, gathering in the shade, turning the sandpit into a place of play, and the pavilion into a stage for small, spontaneous moments.

Without corners, the space remains open and undefined — allowing each day to shape its own use. Light filters through the sail above, casting soft shadows that shift with time, creating a calm and ever-changing atmosphere.

It is in these small interactions that the project reveals its intention — not as a fixed object, but as a framework for play, learning, and imagination.

CANOPY FOR PLAY

Designed for the youngest members of our community, this small pavilion introduces a quiet architectural presence within the kindergarten playground. Conceived as a place for play, gathering, and imagination, it shelters a sandpit while also becoming a stage for storytelling, small concerts, readings, and everyday moments of learning.

The structure is crafted entirely from wood, embracing natural materials and a warm tactile character. Its contemporary structural logic shifts the columns toward the center, leaving the corners open and allowing the space to flow freely toward the surrounding playground.

Above the structure, an earth-toned sail shade provides gentle protection from the sun while maintaining a light and airy character. The result is a small architectural gesture — a place for play, learning, and imagination under a soft canopy of shade.

HOMMAGE TO A GRID

Rooted in a single, powerful theme, the square pays tribute to the Greek land division of the nearby Starogradsko polje, a UNESCO-protected cultural landscape. This grid, the oldest known Greek land division in the Adriatic remains one of the island’s most defining features.

The project becomes an hommage to this ancient system of landscape modules defined by dry-stone walls, echoing the geometry that has shaped the fields.

SEEKING THE SUNSET

Counting the last golden days of summer at our Seeking the sunset house. This beautiful Mediterranean garden was designed to feel both serene and grounded - a tactile counterbalance to the rugged drystone walls.

Rooted deeply in the landscape, climate and context, the home doesn't stand apart - it belongs.

HILLTOP REFUGE: Surfaces in Tone

As interior works progress at Hilltop Refuge, materiality continues to shape the atmosphere of the house. A key element is the application of microcement in the warm, earthy tone Terra by , executed with care and precision by .hr .

Soft in tone, yet tactile in presence, this finish ties together the old stone, wooden beams, and custom-built elements—bringing a contemporary layer that feels completely at home in the landscape.

Set in Velo Grablje, a village known for its elevated views, layered history, and stone building tradition, the house stands as a quiet continuation of place—updated for a slower, modern life.

DRAVSKI BASSO CONTINUO

We had the opportunity to develop a concept for the transformation of the Drava park forest in Varaždin — a unique landscape study rooted in nature, movement, and memory. We teamed up with landscape designers ve-la, design studio Filburg and sculptor Dalibor Stošić.

Inspired by the city’s baroque heritage and the quiet continuity of the Drava River, the design introduces a network of soft paths, poetic rest points, and sculptural architectural interventions that invite reflection, play, and interaction with nature.

Every element, from mist rings and mirrored water surfaces to shimmering concrete pavilions and pebble-shaped resting places, is imagined as part of a living composition — a basso continuo of the forest, the city, and its people.

We’re proud to share that our project “Seeking the Sunset” has been awarded a BIG SEE Architecture Award 2025 in the residential housing category. 🌅

This home, blending stone tradition with contemporary clarity—was born from a deep dialogue with its landscape. We’re incredibly thankful to our clients for the trust, and to the jury for recognising the story and sensitivity behind the architecture.

The award is a celebration not only of design, but of place—of the Mediterranean landscape, local craftsmanship, and a way of living that is both rooted and forward-looking.

Island Hopping 🌊

We’re excited to have the opportunity to bring our work to the island of Brač, where we’ve recently started designing a series of villas that blend innovation with tradition. Known for its pristine white limestone, which has been used in landmarks like Diocletian’s Palace and even the White House, Brač is an island with a rich architectural heritage and breathtaking landscapes.

This new chapter allows us to explore fresh ideas while staying true to the essence of the Adriatic—thoughtful, contextual design that respects the land and history. We can't wait to share more as the projects take shape!

WALKING ON HISTORY

The heart of this renovation lies beneath our feet—kogula flooring, an ancient technique where carefully arranged stone pebbles create a durable and textured surface. Often used in Mediterranean homes, alleys and courtyards, this method brings a sense of permanence and craftsmanship to the interior.
