Our last discussion regarding the discrepancies of number between female and male (Balinese) architects who practice professionally after they finish their education. Despite our relentless effort in giving them the chance to learn and expand at our studios or offices, the burden is already high because the Balinese culture itself albeit only temporary is very demanding for women, especially when they are married and have kids. Few are blessed with strong support system, but many are not choose family over advancing their career and pivot to other career options but still related to architecture with lesser demand. Many who are married and have kids also choose to balance both, although sometimes struggling with time management. There's also culture of "boys club" in the industry that's intimidating for women, it doesn't guarantee safety, full of risks and women need to learn how to avoid unprofessional attempts at work which is hard to do in Eastern culture where it's embedded that women should be modest.

Our collaborative exhibition is still on going at Uma Seminyak highliting our projects in sustainable design. Part of MBloc Design Week.
